I would like to give an update from my previous review below from 2011. The restaurant is still consistently good in every way. The food is very good, the service is top-notch and the welcome is always warm and courteous. Even when full, everything seems to run smoothly.

The bar scene here? Very glitzy, pretentious and coy. Half the bar-flies are on the hunt and the other half are trying their best not to notice. The drinks are well made and delivered correctly, yet for the price you pay per high end cocktail, you'd think there would be something more. Shared the "three tier" seafood platter and some add-on sushi rolls with a friend. Watery lobster, good jumbo shrimp, tiny mussels and clams and oysters, ok sushi rolls....over-priced and served with a perfunctory smile. Overall? Nice atmosphere, pleasant service, way over-priced mediocre food, decent drinks....and maybe it was an off night for the crowd.

Went here for its proximity to Lincoln Center. We arrived early and sat at the bar for a drink. When we were ready to be seated, we were immediately shown to our table . The maitre d was quite accomodating. I ordered the beet salad as an appetizer and scallops for dinner. My husband had the raw oysters, suchi sampler and a salad. All of the food was excellently prepared and service was outstanding. My main complaint was $30 for 3 scallops was a little outrageous.

Had dinner here with four others on Saturday, October 27. We sat in the back room, which is much quieter than the main room, so we wouldn't have to shout to each other. Appetizers were fine. As for the entrees: one of our party ordered the salmon, but was never asked how she wanted it cooked; it turned out to be raw inside, which was not to her liking. Another ordered scallops, and received enough scallops for an appetizer, but not for an entree. I then realized that everyone's portion was too small. We were all reaching for more and more bread. It seemed the only way to feel full. Let me make it clear that only one of our party was what you would call an over-eater. I won't be going here again.

Nice prix fixe lunch. Soup was good, the taco appetizer excellent and the wine very nice. Mahi mahi somewhat overcooked but still very good. Dessert just okay. But the experience was really good.

I had dinner here last night, and it was my fourth visit. We have always enjoyed the food and the service is top-notch. The staff is well trained and it shows, from the person who takes your reservation to the one who greets you and the server. All courteous and professional. The food is one of the best places in new york for seafood and portions are generous. A truly special dining experience.
