Like them Chips
As a non-fish eating patron, I still love this place! Great large portions, friendly staff, and everything you can imagine deep fried! Seriously though, this is the place to go with your friends for a nice sit down with a good beer at a relaxed pace. They have a full bar - my favorite is lemonade with pomegranate vodka, tons of beer, and a menu that makes you feel like Mom's in the kitchen. Enjoyable all around, one of my favorite places to eat in this neighborhood. Again, can't stress howcool the staff are - not in your face covered-in-flair, just laid back and helpful. Go there and enjoy!

Great beer
This place has a great selection of beer and I love it. If you like English food this is your place. I think the food is tasty.

Hits the spot
Not many of us hanker for english cuisine but when you do, this one is pretty darn satisfying.

Cute Place, Decent Food
Went here after seeing the sister restaurant on Fried Food Paradise. Atmosphere was cute, people seemed friendly. Fish and chips portion was LARGE and were as tastey as fish and chips could be. The best thing was the fried twinky with rasberry sauce. Yumm - it was my favorite part. We took our food out after having a beer and so it got a bit soggy. Probably better to eat to eat there. Next time I will try the other english items everyone seemed to be enjoying their shepherd's pie.

Delicious even for Americans
I was a little wary of the ChipShop because I thought the food would probably be similar to A Salt & Battery, which to my non-English palate is expertly cooked but tragically underseasoned. Overall, however, this was a great experience. For starters, the dining room is small but very nice. The beers on tap were reason enough to show up (I had the Wee Heavy, which was outstanding). The service was also fantastic. I cannot say the Plaice & Chips were seasoned as much as I would have liked, but I don't think I've ever had such an expertly fried piece of fish. A quick application of salt & vinegar while it was still hot did a lot to overcome what, to my American taste, would have been a bland batter but it was a small thing in an otherwise fantastic meal. I am already looking forward to going back. (And bonus points for the music selection which included, among other things, Siouxsie & the Banshees "The Scream" played in its entirety).

Addicited to Fried Twix
Really good fish and chips. Fries (chips) have always been my "vice" and I have to say that this place has turned me on to the whole vinegar thing. VERY tasty and fresh fish. I love lemonade and sour things so the Club Lemonade they have is soooo great. I want to buy a case of it for home. The fried twix was a perfect ending. taking a friend there today...I hope they don't get sick of seeing me as I intend on going there quite often. YUM!!
