    Never again

Although I appreciated the staff coming out to find out why we were not happy with the food, I must say, I have not had such bad food in a long time. Specifics: soup was OVER salted, mussles had good sous and plenty of shells but were missing the actual musles, chiken which was on a "specials" menu was way too dry and felt very over crusted. The good part: bread was great and quite liked the spinach pie. At some point I thought that perhaps the waiter is too busy hence the lack of attention to the table outside, but then saw him hanging about by the bar, so think the service sucked also. Oh and I forgot about the "mashed potatoes" that were either 90% flour and 10% potatoes or just 100% out of powder, never tasted anything so horrible in my life. They claimed it's due to the lemon juice and basilic.

    Great Greek

I love Greek food and it's great to have one in the Slope - the food is excellent think the prices are a little high for some of the dishes but overall it's a great restaurant and the owner and rest of the staff are very friendly!!!

My lovely girlfriend brought me to Athena knowing my passion for Greek food. I was not only pleased, but will come back here as often as I can. The food was outstanding and the staff was amazing. Especially the owner came out and took the time to talk to us, ask us how are food was, but give us great stories about his native Greece!

    Best hospitality and amazing food!

My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant for the first time. Our server, the brother of the head chef made us feel like we were family. The food is outstanding, and the hospitality is like nothing I've ever experienced in New York. The atmosphere is elegant and calm, without any pretensions. Overall a fantastic dining experience!

    I love their awesome food!!!!

Athena has the best Greek food ever, my family loves going there, the Chef/owner has the best personality and his recipies are great. We love to have our get togethers there, they give so much food and the service is great. My husband loves the shrimp saganaki and steak, my kids enjoy having the spinach pie and Greek fries and I love their very fresh fish (Oreta) with Grek oven potatoes. We bring our own wine and lets don't forget about the belly dancer every Thursday, she is so friendly and knows how to move!!! We try to be there every Thursday and make it our family day. We wish this place the best!!!

    Great Food

I'm from Astoria, Queens, so I know Greek food! This place serves delicious Greek food. The service is good and the Greek gentlemen who were there on the evening of 9/12 were very polite. This is a down-to-earth and good addition to the Park Slope restaurant scene.

A wonderful addition to the area.

We'll be back again soon. Both the three-course brunch (appetizer, entree, and dessert plus coffee, juice, and croissants) and the service were superb. When we said we were too full for dessert, the owner encouraged us to take his homemade bread pudding to go. And we are glad we did.
