OMG, when I first saw it I was like, hmmmm it doesn't look delightful, it kinda looked gloomy and it felt like a local Chinese restaurant. The bathroom was in a weird place, lol...but it was clean. My boyfriend and I were looking for a really good sushi spot up and down this cold Manhattan City Street , I saw from the side of my eye ARU SHUSHI, I said " Hey Sushi, let check it out " like I said it didn't look too stylish, but what we wanted was GOOD sushi and I have heard about places like these. We were on the hunt for " Eel Avacado" . We saw it on the menu and we were in. OMG, from the warm welcome, to the nice folks enjoying their sushi around us, to the warm towel that felt amazing after coming in from the cold street :) to those wonderful sushi pieces, that were just amazing to look at and it melts in your mouth. I had 1 order of Eel Avacado and 1 order of California roll, my boyfriend had 3 orders of eel Avacado. I also had a Avacado salad with this aweosme home made Japanese salad dressing....delishes.. I can't wait to go back for more. If your looking for a good nice low key place to hang with your friends or loved ones, this is the place to come. Enjoy it if you do decide to come through, you will leave happy and full! :)

Soup, salad, and vegetarian sushi. Very very good. Very fresh. Delivery at 930 at night was fast. New go too place for me.

The food I ordered for delivery through Seamless Web was delivered after an hour and a half (10 blocks). The order was wrong when I finally opened it. I've read other reviews where customers talk about the order being wrong. Never again.

My fav sushi in midtown. Top 3 in all of NYC. Big fresh pieces at decent price. I go often and never am let down. Service girls are friendly and fast. Nothing special to the place when you eat in but nothing bad either. Love it lots!

Food was disappointing. I had a chicken teriyaki lunch and ume sisho... the chicken was chewy, sauce was watery, and the veggies didn't taste fresh. My ume sisho roll didn't have much ume, and was filled with watery cucumber strips. Even the soy sauce was unappetizing. AND, it was terribly overpriced. I spent close to $15 on lunch and in the end I only ate the rice... And in terms of atmosphere... there was none.

Great sushi, casual atmosphere, very nice servers. Definitely recommend for a local sushi place!

I eat A LOT of sushi. I stumbled upon this little joint tonight. From the street I thought it's just a hole in the wall with bad sushi but decided to carefully give it a try. Boy am I glad. Have found my Hell's Kitchen sushi place from now on. Pieces were fresh and HUGE. Japonica HUGE. Service was friendly and quick. Not expensive. Give it a try....I'm glad I did.
