Great pizza
After hearing at lot about Arturo's, we decided to schlep downtown and give it a try. We are very glad we did! The crust was superb - perfect. Cooked exactly right, the sauce was tangy and not too sweet, just the right amount and type of cheese, all the stuff was great. Beers are a bit steep though...we sat outside as it was lovely out tonight. In spite of it being Friday, the crowds were not bad, that could be because we were early. Thumbs up on the pizza, it is right up there if not better than the other greats in NYC.

One of the Last Great Old New York Spots!
This is a wonderful family owned restaurant with delicious food and the type of friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like this is your neighborhood hangout. I love the live jazz and can't believe you can hear such great musicians with no cover charge! Places like this are now very hard to find-especially in NYC. Definitely a hidden treasure!

Good food, but attitude
I live around the corner, so Arturo's is a staple. The food is good, but choices are limited and service can be likened to the "No soup for you" infamous Seinfeld episode. I keep going back for more, which must say something, but I'm frequently disappointed: - fail to deliver item as ordered (i.e., when sauce on side requested) - ridiculously noisy and hard to hear when placing a phone order At their price point, I'd expect either the restaurant atmosphere or service to be improved.

Amazing Pizza--so delicious!
The crust is awesome--overall a very tasty pizza pie with great sauce. Highly recommended. Go early; gets crowded soon after their 4pm opening time.

this is my favorite pizza in the city... and i've tried all the big establishments - grimaldis, lombardies, etc. the atmosphere is great and their pies are charcoaled to perfection. the pizza sauce is amazing -- mm definitely worth a try if you havent been!

not bad, but definitely overrated
$29.00 for a large pizza with onions, peppers, mushrooms and pepperoni. that seems high to me, and i am a manhattan resident. also, we requested it be cooked well, but the entire middle of the pizza (about 1/3 of each slice) was so soggy that the crust was like mushy, soaked bread. kind of gross. the flavor of the pizza is good, but the quality of the cheese could be a lot better. the crust is hit or miss- sometimes crispy and flavorful, other times thick and hard with little to no flavor. wines offered are decently priced. the entrees look pretty bad to me (typical cheap over-sauced over-garlicked fare), but i have never tasted them in my 10 or so visits so i can't judge them on taste. the live music is a definite treat and the atmosphere is lively and pleasant in general- i'll give them that. but there is way better pizza to be had in nyc.

worth a stop
The pizza is ok, but the crust is too thick for my taste. You can get a good salad to go with your meal, and a small carafe of their house wine. It's a good value before you head to the movie theaters nearby, but nothing to brag about. They also have nice live jazz.
