Very delighted and will return
I was whisked away to a table hidden behind the host stand, a prime "people watching table."From the hostess to the food runner the staff was courteous and kind as they could be. Although it was 8PM and busy i didn't feel rushed or unattended to. The food was very yummy and i enjoyed the chocolate fondu as well as the mussels and the juicy steak. On my way out i bought a lovely cheese called Époisses which was so creamy and buttery. Yum!

Subpar Service
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. It's a beautiful place and the food is still pretty good, but I went on Saturday night and the service was horrible. It's a shame that this restaurant has slipped.

I'm not sure about the hoopla
I've watched the lines outside the place since its inception. I reside in the neighborhood for more yrs than the restaurant has been opened...and while the menu outside really never prompted me to try the food, the crowds and cheese lured me in a couple of times. I've been disappointed when dining here..I guess my expectations were higher than the chef's craft. Cheese selection is great!

Paris in New York
While I wouldn't go to Artisanal for the service, the atmosphere and the menu make me always want to come back. You can come here for a full-fledged meal, or just for some drinks and snacks. Some of the most notable menu options are the fondue, charcutterie, and the truffle french fries- which all go wonderfully with a Stilton-Stuffed Olive Martini, or a comforting glass of red wine. Go for the experience, unwind, and get lost in the joie de vivre.

Disappointing service; expensive food
We went to Artisinal last night to celebrate my husband's birthday; he had seen it on the Food Network and, having never had fondue, wanted to go. The Maitre'D ignored us for a good few minutes (as we exchanged glances between us wondering how long we'd be kept waiting) before a host finally took our coats and showed us to our table. We waited a while for the waitress, and my husband had to ask her if he could order a drink to start ($14 martini that he didn't even finish - said it wasn't made well). We each ordered a salad, a few sides, and then Grande' Fondue (3 of us, for a main course). After the salads were brought, we had to ask a bus boy for silverware. The organic greens was literally only greens -- not a crouton, tomato, or anything other than mixed lettuces - and not worth the $12.50 price. My husband did rave about the beet salad, though. Except for bread chunks, the fondue dipping items are all a' la carte and rather expensive - $10.50 for a small bowl of chicken chunks). The crudite' were not what I expected - tiny pieces of broccoli & red pepper; radishes; tiny baby carrots; cornichons. The waitress never came back to ask if my husband wanted another drink or a glass of wine, and after dessert, she brought me the wrong check -- $100 too high. Sadly, the overall experience was rather disappointing. And at $260 (with tip) for 3 people, very expensive for basically cheese and bread.

Nice French Bistro
I had dinner with a co-worker and we were both very pleased with overall experience. Food was great, good wine, nice ambience, service for us was appropriate and we had no complaints.
