    Perfect Dining Experience

I love the mood and the upbeat atmosphere at Artisanal. I have been there numerous times, and always come out with a smile on my face. It is a happy place and a lot of fun. The Artisanal Fondue is delicious and fun to eat. I love the Dover Sole, and the wines list is on e of the finest.

    If you like cheese...

One of my favorite places in the city. Beautiful, large, French bistro style environment with one of the best cheese selections you will find anywhere. Waiters will help you pair wine and cheese. I've always had great service here.

    Service? What Service?

Poor service. Mediocre food. For all their pretensions, you need to go elsewhere if you want a pleasant dining experience.

    go for brunch

We had very quick courteous service. We started with biegnets, hot and cinnaminn sugared. I had the eggs benedict with Salmon and Cavior. It's served on a potato gallote of a sort it was delicious. My friend had the eggs baked with Brie which also looked wonderful. The coffee is served elegant. We had a lovely experience and I will come back.

    Subpar service

I have used menupages for a few years and have never written a review before. I am doing so now, because I was shocked by the service last night! We sat at our table with nothing but water for a solid half hour before anyone took our drink order. They never asked us about food, other than the cheese we ordered to start with, and left us with giant menus on our plates for ANOTHER half hour. The cheese was very good, and I'd actually go back to give them another try, maybe on a weeknight or a lunch. But, my gosh, I can't get over how bad the service was last night!

So this is where all the good service went

I met a friend here for lunch at her suggestion. The sevrice was impeccable. I can't remember the last time I had uch good service in NY. The onion soup was divine. The wid mushroom was good but not the best I've ever had and the apple tarte tartin was also good. I will return here to sample the cheese platters and wine!

Lack of Quality Service defines the experience

This establishment, while visually appealing has managed to slip onto my "Worse in Class" list for service. A dismal dining experience on Chirstmas Eve included inattentive service. The sommelier was unaware of standard protocol for decanting of wine. Yet with all that, the behavior that has left me speachless is the fact the the General Manager spoke with me that evening regarding my experience. He took my comments card and business card with all my current contact information and promised that I would hear from him personally regarding the our evening, and to date I have not heard from him or the establishment. While the food quality is above average, the price of an evening at Artisanal is rather high considering the relative lack of quality table service. There are numerous high end french bistro's in New York City that offer very similar food with excellent service
