I love this place but must agreee that the delivery is sub-par. Last week, I placed an order and was told the wait would be 45 minutes, which I accepted even though it was a bit long. The food finally arrived, but my chicken soup was tepid at best and my frankfurter and entree were cold. Unbelievably, it still tasted OK, but would have been much better hot, especially after waiting so long! My 2 cents....

Favorite deli on the upper west side. The post that says the delivery is bad is probably an isolated situation. I order from them at least once a week and i have had better success from them then most places. I have had one bad delivery in the past (pastrami instead of salami - the pastrami is better anyhow) and they offered a free sandwich for me the next time.

This was a fun experience in NYC! The food was fantastic and tons of it. The Matzoh ball soup was perfect for the cold rainy day. My boyfriend and I each had a sandwich, but should have shared - lots of leftovers. The yummiest pickles ever!! (and I make my own pickles, so that's saying something...)

This place has the best fries in this city hands down. The service is great and the portions are quite sufficient. I had an omlet and fries and I couldn't finish it! Plus, they bring you complementary cole slaw and pickles! I would recommend for sure! Atmosphere is nothing to brag about but the food is so good you won't care.

Artie's is definitely the best deli on the upper west side and one of the best in the city. The atmosphere is nothing to speak of so I am not big on eatting there but delivery is top notch.

When you eat at Arties, you are eating among your neighbors, not tourists as at the big name delis. All the food is very good and I especially love the pierogis.

If you're looking for a good deli sandwich (pastrami, et al.) it does the trick, but it certainly doesn't match other great NY deli's like Carnegie or Stage - albeit, Artie's isn't as costly as those places. Service was rather poor...had to call over the waitress several times for a water refill. Also, we were put at a table right next to an occupied one when the place was pretty empty which left us with little space.
