Okay, I've lived in this neighborhood like forever and I took my new boyfriend here and his teen daughter thinking she would have a fabulous NYC experience. The waitress was sullen, but the atmosphere divine. We ordered our lunch which took forever to arrive. My appetizer salad was okay, until I bit into something hard towards the end. I was embarrassed and pulled it out of my mouth. It was a piece of box. I guess I should have been grateful it wasn't a piece of something else by the way management treated me. The waitress then became more attentive and tried to negotiate between me and management. They offerered us coffees on the house. It was 3 in afternoon and I didn't want coffee, nor did I want to pump coffee into a 15 yr-old. I asked in return for 1 dessert for the table. "No Go' I was told. So we had 1 coffee (cause 2 of us did't want one). I didn't finish my salad because I was turned off. Then we waited 3/4 of an hour for our entree which wasn't very good. WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE?

I took a few of my family members here for Sunday Brunch and it was absolutely wonderful. The wait was acurate and brief. The food was very good, and the selection of unlimited beverages was outstanding. I will definitely be visiting this place again! Wonderful restaurant!

I had brunch with friends this weekend, and we absolutely loved it. Everyone at the table had great things to say about their meals. Overheard at my table over the great conversation - - "Great eggs, so buttery," "This burger is the best burger I've had," "The pasta is delicious!" Oh, and did I mention unlimited mimosas, bellinis for only $10!? A great place to take local and out-out-town friends.

I am new to the neighborhood and I found a gem of a restaurant. I went there on 3/19 and had a wonderful experience. Great ambiance in the room with a fireplace. I was sitting by the window seat so had a great view of the whole place. Only downside is the noisiness of the place. I enjoyed the food. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely be coming back.

I asked the waitperson this weekend if the restaurant had been sold within the last couple of years and she said no. If it is the same owner/manager, Arte Cafe has deteriorated badly. I had a Mediterranean salad - cucumbers were mushy, tomatoes were hothouse and unripe, lettuce was wilted. It took me 15 minutes before I received the champagne I'd ordered. No refill on rolls, no biscotti at the entranceway. It's way too pricey for substandard food and service. After 10 years of patronage, I'm done.

I don't think there is an restaurant in this city that is more bipolar. I've had good experiences at Arte, with good food and friendly service, and I've had bad food and equally bad service. This is also the only place in NYC where the waitress has consistently forgotten parts of my order (and it's not like I'm ordering anything special - generally, the salad or the drinks are simply forgotten, only to show up on the bill later on in the night) Bottom line - Arte Cafe is simply hit or miss, and I don't think I will return

I think Arte is a great nabe place, you can dine 3x a week and not break the bank. In an era when eating out has become such a trend, this place makes is a refreshingly simple, no attitude favorite. PS after a long winter, looking forward to al fresco dining.
