True: The name is "Bar", not Restaurant
But they make one of the best burgers in the neighborhood.

The name is "Bar", not Restaurant
Keep in mind it's a bar first and restaurant second. Don't come here expecting to be waited on like other Manhattan joints, seems like they only provide service because people requested it. Jukebox is a typical web based one not awesome, but not completely bad either.

fine for drinks, but skip for dinner
I came here for drinks and had a nice time, so I decided to give it a try for dinner.... bad idea!! Our waitress was beyond poor - she had no idea what orders she was bringing us and was rude when we corrected her. When the correct orders finally came, they tasted mediocre. The West Village is filled w/ adorable and delicious restaurants. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. It's fine for drinks, but definitely skip this place for dinner.

Quiet? Great Staff? Are you Kidding?
One time we were there we sat at a booth and waited for 15 minutes for table service. When we got up and asked the bartender if there was service, we realized that our slightly long in the tooth blonde waitress had been sitting at the booth next to us with her friends the whole time. At another visit, same surly waitress alas, we sat in the front corner by the window where the 80's headbanging rock music was so loud, it was impossible to have a conversation with our friends. Drinks were decent, and food is pretty decent as well, but due to the remarkably unfriendly staff, dont know if we will be returning...

Laid-back neighborhood place
This is our local standby. The waitresses are wonderful, the food prices are low, and the seats are comfortable. The food is pretty up-and-down--the calamari scares me. Best bets are curly fries, any of the burger platters, or the garlic cheese bread. Happy hour is depressing and desolate...late night is great every night. Cozy in winter (fireplace), a laid-back, mixed, not-too-fratty crowd...the occasional low-key theatre celeb sighting. The couches and booths make it good for a group, or romantic for a couple.

Great for hanging out!
great place to quietly hang out with friends. Really relaxing and comfortable. Huge couches and seating areas in the back. More of a lounge/bar than resaurant, but the food is still really good.
