Inept service and overpriced dull food.

My Boyfriend and I ate at Arpeggio as part of a package I purchased on Gilt City. It included a 3 meal prefix and 2 tickets to the symphony. The total cost of the the prefix meal for 2 was $78. This would be great, considering normal ny prices, if it wasn't the most unappetizing meal I have had in ny. I could get better from a bodega buffet. I don't know if our meal was luke warm frozen re-heats because it was a special offering with the online discount company, I hope it was for the good of the restaurant and other patrons. But regardless I could never recommend this over priced, makeshift restaurant. Also 20% gratuity was automatically billed to us at the end, despite slow service, it took 20 min just to get the check and as we were having the meal before the show, time was of the essence.

Two of us stopped here recently before a concert at the NY Philharmonic. Food was mediocre with several real mistakes --- gummy pasta, fish less than fresh and overcooked. Our waiter clearly didn't know about combining wine and food (and it's a "food and wine bar"!). Service was very slow with long pauses between ordering and service and between courses --- made it tight to get to the concert allowing 1 1/2 hours for 2 courses. For the quality, it is expensive, but we would happily pay that much or more for higher quality at the location.

The flavors were good but the kitchen made mistakes they shouldn't have. Overcooked scallops, pasta that stuck together in clumps. For the prices, there are no excuses for these simple kitchen errors. Wine was delicious, but no one needed to do anything but pour.

3:30 am a fiend and I stopped to have tea and a goodie. We were informed that we could not sit down at the tables, reserved for dinner. We should place our order at the counter. There were 3 people behind the counter talking, a 4th employee passed no acknowledgement. We all left never to return.

I ate here 6 months ago for a show, the food was terrible. I didn't think they could mess up spaghetti but they somehow managed. Tasteless and expensive. I would skip eating altogether and wait til you have better options after the show.

I’d eat here even if I weren’t going to Lincoln Center. We ate here because we were going to a 7PM show and wanted to be right at Lincoln Center so we’d have as much time as possible to enjoy each others company. Out of 5 people all were satisfied and we’re a reasonably fussy bunch, especially 2 of us. We were totally satisfied with everything, the ambiance, the food, the service. The food was all good, good quality and well prepared. I like my fish rare and ordered it that way and that’s the way it came. Salad greens were fresh and the bread pudding dessert delicious. Thank you Arpeggio for your contribution to making our perfect evening out perfect
