Not worth it
Don't bother making a reservation you will wait an hour. The front hostess and host are so obnoxious you would think it was your fault for being on time. This restaurants attitude is bad and is not worth it. No matter how early you come they cannot manage themselves and you have to wait for cruddy food that is overpriced.

I am a confirmed NYC born & raised carnivor. Growing up we went to Peter Lugers, the Old Homestead, Sparks, the Palm... Had a great Sunday brunch at Arlington on April 14; went back for dinner April 21. Porterhouse for two loaded with garlic gloves; I am allergic and specified three times. Replacement steak cold...sent back...a tad lukewarm upon return of a "new" steak. On first round creamed spinach cold...on second round steaming hot. It took three attempts and the steak was still not right. Check came for $206; I ranted and they boiled it down to $53. We left angry and cranky. Would much rather have paid full freight and feasted accordingly. I just don't get it. Have been going to Lugers and Homestead 40 years....never had an issue.

Da Scene
Let me add, my go to place is still Peter Luger's for steak, although the steak here was good as was the salmon, a return visit is questionable only because the standard for steak is Luger's. The restaurant is a N.Y.C. scene for a people watching person. The service was very professional however if you're a big buck spender try Lavo Rest.

Not going back
Despite having a dinner reservation we waited 30 minutes to be seated with the hostess saying it would just be a few minutes each time we checked in. Everyone at bar had been waiting for their table for ages. Sat down to "eh" sushi for an appetiser. A medium fillet came out rare. Steak sauces were stone cold. Mac and cheese was dry. E

Poor service, attitude, and lukewarm food. Bus boy was clearing the food away while we were still eating, and the noise level makes it impossible to talk to each other.

Nothing Special
We went early to the restaurant, before the scene started - and it was quite the scene later on. Very typical UES older crowd, especially in the bar area. If that's desirable, I recommend a visit because you couldn't script the scene and cast of characters any better. The service was fine, but the food, however, was average at best. The steak had little flavor and was tough, the onion rings were just ok, the mac n cheese overhyped, and the sushi forgettable. Nothing was bad, but nothing made an impression either. There was not one dish I would go back for. Overall, the experience was fine, but for the price, you can do much much better.
