I will in no way try to lie and say that i "know" sushi because i don't, but i have eaten sushi and Japanese food in general in different places and this place have some good sushi and food...but not the best. It is also a bit pricy for the bit of food they serve. Sushi was good, other food was good, service was fast and great, but no bang for your buck that's for sure.

Have you ever had a meal that filled you up with left you utterly devoid of any sense of pleasure or satisfaction? That describes both meals I have had at Ariyoshi. Those who say this is the best sushi in the neighborhood are either shills or very uninformed.

Ariyoshi is by far the best sushi in the area. The fish is always fresh and the wait staff is always very pleasant and helpful. Not too expensive, and a really nice atmosphere. They also deliver!

We ate here on a rainy Saturday night the place was almost empty but the servers were attentive and the food came QUICKLY! We had an excellent sushi plate, calamari and a cooked Salmon dish and were very impressed with all the selections. Great miso soup and great salad as well. definitely worth a try!

My brother and I stopped by for a pre-movie dinner but only had about half an hour. The waitress was immediately complient and more or less ordered for us to save time. She told us that once the first dish came out "boom" it all comes out at once. Well "boom" it was. The food was excellent and served almost immediately after ordering. A good selection and we ate like pigs to get to the movie on time. Movie was so-so. Will return when next in New York.

Food is good. Always seems to be empty though. Finally they deliver.

Ate at sushi bar on 1/4/07. Unflexible service ie. no salad for soup exchange. However the sashimi was some of the best I've ever had.
