Never the same
The neighborhood will never be the same. Nothing like nice people to make good food better.... and now Ave C is the place to B. Bring the best vibe you can and everything goes up from there .

Cool Find... now that it's warm again
Went there recently with my girlfriend on a Fri night and the food was awesome. Service was great and attentive. Nice to be able to head out to Alphabet city for drinks and be able to grab wonderful diner to start off the evening. Will definitely head back to check out the nightly specials they have during the weekdays.

Fantastic
We just went to Arcane for the first time this evening. What a find! Got in by 7.30 and had the prix fixe which was superb. Everything from the starters to the delicious desserts was awesome. Will definitely go back soon.

A welcome change to the blase brunch that plagues the East Village.
I visited Arcane with my girlfriend on Sunday for brunch. Living in alphabet city, which apparently specializes in sunday brunch, there are many choices. I liked the idea of French Caribbean cooking and wanted to give it a try. The facade isn't terribly inviting, but the inside is great. Well decorated, soft colors, and wooden benches for seats. The waitstaff was also very good, speaking french amongst themselves, and attentive to the customers. The brunch menu wasn't extensive, but had some "off the beaten track" choices and some staples like french toast and eggs benedict. I ordered the baked eggs and home potatoes which were 5 stars, a great price and detailed presentation. The omelette of the day was ordered, however it was salty and too buttery, even by french standards. Also, the bloody mary I ordered was excellent. Overall, I strongly recommend Arcane to anyone looking to try something new, outside the box for brunch in the East Village.

Damn Son!
This place blew me away. I have to start with the food because it's phenomenal. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the best meals I've had in NYC. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and they always have specials that are easy on your wallet. I'm about to go back right now. Sunday brunch or dinner any night, do yourself a favor and get to Arcane!

great food!
I passed by the other day and noticed their 9.95 daily deals during the week and stopped in for the hanger steak on sunday night. it was fantastic. it came with french fries and i opted for a sauce (peppercorn) for an extra dollar which was a great choice. it is a big cut of meat, cooked the way i asked (med rare) and was sliced very nicely. The server was really helpful at choosing a nice red wine to go with my meal. Also, the atmosphere is relaxed and very inviting to anyone who walks in. I will definately go back for another nightly special, maybe the mussels on tuesday night. You get a choice of a white wine, tomato or curry sauce! There is also a daily prix frixe for 19.95 that comes with an appetizer, main dish and chefs dessert.

best brunch!
I found this place one day when I was turned away from the sunburnt cow. It's amazing, for $10 - you get breakfast, oj, coffee and a cocktail. Every cocktail after the free one is also only $4. I think that is an amazing deal, esp. considering the food is fantastic (get the eggs florentine!), it has a mellow atmosphere, quirky playlist and nice bartenders. If you want frech toast though - ask for it well done.. sometimes it's a little doughy. I'm excited to go there some week night also - they have a daily special that looks promising.
