Breezy French/Caribbean Meets Affordable Cool NYC
Arcane is my go-to restaurant for maxing and relaxing, date night or fun group dinners with friends. It's one of the rare restaurants in Manhattan that has a down to earth, upbeat vibe while serving excellent food at affordable prices. If you go on a quieter night, you'll see old friends from several countries playing dominoes at the bar. Have a beer "a la pression" and some fish, or the awesome avocado and shrimp salad. The steak is good too. If it's mellow, eat, enjoy and chill out. If it's crowded, enjoy the good music and the mixing of languages, cultures and cocktails. Mmm.

Unique food, off service
A few friends and I decided to check this place out. The ambience is terrific, you can meet your friends at the bar and have a great time. The food (especially the codfish fritters and mango/papaya salad) was delicious. Unfortunately service was not up to par. There was ONE waitress for the entire place. It became packed as the night went on and she was at least serving 15 tables all at once. She didn't ask if we wanted dessert and reminded us that tip was not included in the check. All in all it was a mediocre experience. Be careful if you go.

De-Lish
We ate here last night and had a wonderful time. This place serves up mouth watering unique food. The organic chicken and the red snapper were delightful. The bread comes with this savory oil w/bits of heaven in it. The service and atmosphere were amazing to boot. Go. Go. Go.

Great place, highly recommended
I highly recommend this restaurant. It has nice, swanky vibe and feel, the waitress was super-friendly, and the food was great, and the prices were very reasonable. The mussels in curry sauce with fries were ample, delicious and a bargain at $12. My friend had the salmon and a side of spinach (lightly sauteed baby greens) - it was very good. Go to Arcane - you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Love it!
Great food, great service, very nice atmosphere! i looove that place! go there on wednesdays for the mustard rabbit, it's delicious! brunsh is very good as well (i recommend the steak sandwich or croque monsieur).

Wow wow wow
I've lived nearby for 8 years and happily remember the early days of Bao 111, which used to inhabit the same location as Arcane. This place lives up to the food legacy of this space and does so at really affordable food prices without sacrificing presentation, taste or service. Really really yummy for both lunch and dinner. Looking forward to trying the weekly specials too. A welcome addition to the hood.

Amazing!
Just tried this place out with a large party, and it was excellent! The food is awesome. I tried just about all the appetizers and had the pork stew as an entree (which I would highly recommend). The waitress was amazing, and very patient & accommodating to our large party...probably the best service I've ever had! Arcane should (most definitely!) be added to your 'next places to eat' list.
