Why are we packed so tight
The food was great, the service sublime. I do not understand why we need to be packed so tight I can barely hear myself think. The decor, I suppose is Scandinavian business so it has too many hard edges further amplifying sounds. I am puzzled by the audacity of high charging restaurants that pack you like Sardines. Aren't we paying more for atmosphere as well? Otherwise I can go to my local diner and get packed in.

Dissapointing!
Went to the cafe for a birthday dinner party 11/24/07... From the mixed up on the drinks order, to the below par overall service; to the hard as a rock hanger steak which I have to send back once and came inedible, I will not recommend this restaurant to anybody. In all, a very disappointing dinner experience....

Aquavit Cafe
Went for the herring & gravalax only. It was all delicious, esp the vodka lime.

Disappointed
Extremely disappointed in decor of the cafe. The pre fixe in the cafe is excellent value, however the choices of the entrees are poor. The hanger steak was poor and the chef agreed it was cut against the grain. By the time they came back with a new piece my husband was no longer hungry. He took it home and threw it out the next day. I had the pork chop and it was gamey and tough. Our friends were not as disappointed but agreed they would not return.
