    Pleasant surprise

Checked it out before a movie at BAM which is a few short blocks away. Got there at 7:00 -- it was empty -- a little concerned -- packed by the time we left at 8:30. Two of us (vegetarians) made meals of appetizers and side dishes as there aren't any vegetarian entrees on the menu (there should be -- how about some vegetarian mousaka or a spinach pie?) -- but they were delicious -- I'm told the fish dishes that other members of our party had were quite good. Prix fixe meal at $25 looks like an excellent value. They comped us with some baklava and yogurt (delicious) at the end of the meal.

    Stunned!

i can hardly believe how amazing this place is - possibly in top 10 meals of all time. certainly most reliable. everything so simple yet flavors are so bright - must be because everything is just fresher than the norm- even among the super fine-dining establishments. it's actually like a meal you'd get at some gorgeous european seaside vacation spot. everything near perfect. if you havent been - go now! and they deliver even deep into clinton hill - which is also a rare find! cannot recommend highly enough. ENJOY! ps my faves thus far: shepherds salad, grilled octopus, sardines, ANY of the fish & the eggplant spread. i havent been able to try more - can't seem to veer from the favorites!

    Simply Marvelous! Ok Marvelous!

So, waiters do one of two things when there's a single diner; overbearing or ignoring you the two extremes. Well, I dined alone and was treated as a guest in a private home party. the food was very good; the Grill Calamari, the whole Sea Bass (filet), Mash potato (ok), i am stuffed, but in a good way. my waiter Hlyton/Hilton was very attentive. Muy Bueno! and complementary desert. Will be back really soon!

    Quite Good!

A really nice addition to the neighborhood! The feta and pepper dip was fantastic, as was my swordfish kabob. Everyone at the table liked their meals, though I'd recommend againstn the steamed greens (a little chewy). All and all, a very pleasant dining experience!

    Good eats

My sister and I ate at Aqualis the food was great. I had the sword fish she had the lamb chops, it was so good. It was fresh, clean and yummy. The owner came over to our table after meeting all the guess in the dinning room. The kitchen is open so you get to see the your food being put together.

    Simple seafood at its best!

My boyfriend and I went to Aqualis Grill for dinner last night and had a wonderful experience. We came here after seeing an online video of the owner, Ani, going to the Hunts Point fish market to choose the exact fish he wanted to serve at this restaurant. Being seafood devotees, we were drawn to Ani’s passion for fresh fish and decided to come here. The décor was clean, simple and modern with an exposed kitchen, allowing the focus to be on the food. We were warmly greeted by our server, who was extremely attentive throughout the entire meal without being at all intrusive, and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about a lot of the items on the menu. We decided to split a grilled calamari appetizer, and my boyfriend ordered the pan roasted scallop entrée, while I went for the whole grilled Mediterranean sea bass with a side of orzo. The squid came with a lemon saffron vinaigrette and had great texture and flavor. Both of our entrees were very satisfying in terms of taste and portion. I loved that the recipes weren’t overcomplicated and that all the ingredients served to highlight the natural flavors of the fish. For a $4 side, I was expecting a small scoop of orzo on the side of my plate, but instead, it came in a separate bowl and could have been a dish on its own! The orzo was perfectly cooked and the light tomato sauce had a delicate hint of sweetness, which almost tasted like apple cider. The owner came by to check in on us and he was incredibly nice--entertaining us with tidbits about the fish market. We even received a complimentary dessert, which was homemade baklava and Greek yogurt. At that point, we were so full that we weren’t planning on ordering dessert, but this dessert was light and was a perfect end note to our meal. We got all this for less than $60! That also had to do with the fact that we didn't have any alcoholic drinks (because they don’t have a liquor license yet), but they told us they should have one very soon and when that happens, we’ll certainly come back to try some of the other dishes on the menu! Thanks Ani.
