I keep coming back
Ah, Aquagrill. when I think of New York this is what is pictured in my minds eye. I've been coming here for the last four years, everytime I come to New York from London this is the first and last place I eat. It has never let me down. I have been here with my Wife and with friends and it suites both. The staff are great and actualy remember me, the drinks are mixed to the best standard - the bloody Mary is very effective if you have over done it- and the food is so fresh and well presented. I will be there for my birthday this coming Febuary. Don't miss this place out.

This was really great!
We went to Aquagrill for the first time last night (Oct. 13) for my birthday. I'd made the res. about 2 weeksin advance & confirmed it the day before. When we got there we did not wait more than 5 min.for our table, and the maitre d' was very courteous. They gave us a table next to the service/rest room door (not surprising as we were "first timers") .So, I asked our waiter, "As it's my birthday, do you think we could sit at the next table?" He asked his "boss", & then moved us. We had a glass of champagne each, a small salad, a fabulous seafood plateau for 2, a bottle of Muscadet, & a chocolate dessert (which they wrote "Happy Birthday" on in chocolate!) They have a verylarge staff who were attentive & most helpful, and the food was excellent, as well as the atmosphere, which was relaxed & very pleasant. I really must give them my highest rating.

Dinner
I took my bf here to celebrate his birthday and we really liked it. The servers were nice.....except we did not know we would be charged PER GLASS of coke we got. Besides that, the food was real good and unique. It is family-owed so I think that adds to the restaurant not feeling so typical (more of a unique experience). At the end of the meal, my bf and I got chocolate souffle...MMM...YUM! Overall, we were very impressed with this place and would go again!

Excellent Seafood, Mediocre Service
Went here on a rainy Saturday and the place was jammed. Had 10:30 reservations and came an hour early (as suggested) and they seated us immediately. The gentleman who seated us was fabulous. Very professional. Our server was not as pleasant. He wasn't rude, just not as friendly as one would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. But that didn't let that ruin our night. The food was fabulous. We started with the little necks and the oysters and they were perfect. With my fiancee being from Cape Cod, she knows her shelfish, and she loved every bit of it. We then had the red snapper which was just as good. With its location, you would expect a loud, sceney venue, but it was just the opposite. For how crowded it was, it was a quiet, sophisticated atmosphere. Two thumbs up, we well be back!

What a wonderful brunch
I took my dad to brunch here when he was in time staying in Soho/west village and we loooved it! The servers were attentive and kind, constantly refilling water glasses etc. The seafood was marvelous and the interior adorable! I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Happy to spread the news!
My husband and I have been dinning at Aqua Grill for about 7 years and each and every time, our experience is 100% pleasurable! The food is consistently fresh and creative even on the busiest nights. The entire staff is always friendly, attentive and personable! The bartenders have an exceptional knowledge of the large selection of oysters and their descriptions of the various varieties are accurate and ingenious! Their knowledge of wines is also extensive and their suggestions have never been disappointing! It is a refreshing change to encounter such outgoing personalities behind the bar! The hostess is wonderfully accommodating ensuring smooth sailing from the moment to enter the restaurant! This restaurant may be small in size but enormous in terms of a great lively atmosphere, incredibly delicious oysters of all over the country, fresh seafood and fish, creative desserts and an excellent section of wines! A "must do" for seafood lovers in NYC!

Romance, Attention & Cusine
For Valentine's Day I brought my fiance to AquaGrill with a 6pm reservation we arrived a quarter-to and walked in, immediately we were greated by the host and the coat check gentleman. he took our coats and gave us a number, the host told us that they would be seating shortly and that we could have a seat at the bar or in a cozy side corner. we chose the bar I fetched a stella artois while my fiance tried their house ros?. we chatted among the crowd and spoke with the bar tender. with no wine knowledge i proceeded to tell him what I liked and what i wanted with some seafood, he was very well versed and spoke to me on a level i could understand, he selected two different wines explaining they would complement our meal well, i thanked him for his suggestions and finished out our tab. we were seated and I ordered the Seafood Plateu Royale, the waiter was very friendly and suggested that we wouldn't need any apitizers, a busboy brought us some tasty starters complements of the chef, it was a salmon tar-tar complemented with a crispy potato wafer. our food arrived and it was fantastic, the waiter proceeded to tell us what everything was and how to eat it, everything had a sauce to dip with, the platter included mussels in a creamy mustard sauce, stone crab, a dozen oysters, 1/2 a dozen clams, shrimp cocktail, lobster tail, the sauces were wonderful and made to complement the seafood extremely well, the mustard sauce for the stone crab claws was absolutly amazing something that i highly recommend you try. the wait staff was superb and right on the ball, they changed our plates 5 times while we ate, clearing away any shells we had discarded, getting up to go to the bathroom, they came over immediately and folded our napkins, dessert was a chocolate sampler which included a white chocolate moose ganash a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a wonderful warm molten chocolate filled sponge style chocolate cake, everything was delicious and fantastic, i highly recommend!
