honestly, the best restaurant i've ever been to. the service is exceptional- so friendly and happy to help, without being pushy. went with family on one occassion and told the server we were looking to hang awhile and chat, if they didn't have a wait for the table-- it was totally ok and encouraged. the maine lobster salad with red onion and avocado was such a delicious combination and easy to share. though so many things on the menu sound delicious, the simple grill options are so appealing-- i wish every restaurant would offer this!!! so perfectly prepared! also enjoyed the seafood plateau which was full of clams, periwinkles, oysters and more for a reasonable price. not a dessert person but have to say, the pumpkin dessert we had this fall was absolutely to die for!! reccomend x5!!! it's easy to spend a lot because the food is so delicious, but you can honestly get a great meal for a reasonable price, too. the wine list is excellent- varied, with many domestic labels, including washington and oregon, for under 70 bucks. loves it!

went there first time last night for dinner...service was excellent, the food was great- well portioned, seasoned and cooked to perfection and the oysters--oh my oh my, such a selection and so fresh & tasty..move over ocean grill . . .i will be back, and with more people!

We have been going to Aquagrill since 2004. By far they have the best seafood in NYC, with the exception of sushi, which they do not offer....but maybe they should seriously consider doing so in the future. The service is good however at times there is need for more attention ie. wine pouring. The oysters are the best to be had. The deserts are great, we love the mango/mascarpone tart (spring summer) and their soft shell crab prepartions. The only real improvements I would say Aquagrill needs would be to vary their menu, which is usually standard everytime we go, with the occassional specials. if you ever read these reviews, we love your restaurant but do a few NEW plates once in awhile. Lastly, I think the place could use an atmosphere makeover.......its a bit kitche what with the shell lamps, murals and all. Again.....we still love it and go nearly once a month.

always was told this was a great place and finally tried it. glad we did. it epitomizes a nyc rest. host delivering great serivce and with wonderful style and humor. food was fantastic, server and wait-staff courteous and respectful and a great atmosphere. was a pleasure dining there. too many nyc restaurants have an attitude as if they are doing you the favor by taking your time and money... not this one. they know how to treat a patron.

I went here for lunch with my girl friend today and we shared a platter of oysters- absolutely fresh and delicious!!! She had the salmon special which was amazing! I ordered the grilled ahi tuna and avocado sandwich, and they were accomodating to my request of having no bread and salad (btw- they have a great dressing!) instead of fries. Thedessert menu had some amazing thing on it! But that's for when I'm not on a diet... Try AG, you won't regret it!

This service here is the friendliest I've experienced in a trendy, upscale restaurant. But, the food is the real star! Everything is fresh, delicious, imaginative, and will bring you back for more. My friend raved about the tender octopus appetizer. The halibut was excellent, very fresh and flavorful. Cocktails were also good, loved the ginger snap. We went late on a Friday night without reservations, and received a warm, welcome even though the restaurant was busy. Very nice experience and outstanding food.

Walked in without a reservation at 8PM on a Wed. and got a seat at the bar after about 20 minutes. We had oysters that were great. We shared the special crispy octopus, tuna tartar and the scallop ceviche. All were so flavorful and perfect. Can't wait to go back!
