Best Oysters
my buddy and me did the oyster bar thursday night. awesome bartender and hostess kept us entertained and in great oysters. also tried the tartare which was awesome. tried one of their signature cocktails which was a little sweet, but besides that it was an awesome night. might try to get there a little on the earlier side to guarantee bar seats. it filled up really fast.

exceptional!
i was the worst dressed guy there on a busy night with no reservations. still was treated like a VIP. ordered more oysters/clams here than ive ever ordered in my life and every single one was perfect. the bartenders were really friendly and the food, drinks, desserts, and service overall were impeccable. would be proud to take my most exalted guests there.

yummy food
Had a business lunch there yesterday and I loved the food. The waitress recommended a benito sashimi with grilled eggplant for my appetizer which wasn't on the menu. The dish was very very fresh and good. For entree, she recommended the red drum fish which was another winner. I loved the food and the service at this place and would totally go back.

A Class Act
We have eaten at Acqagrill several times recently, and found both the service and the food to be first-rate. I can't imagine fresher seafood more impeccably cooked, nor could I imagine more attentive and professional service. Re previous complaints about service: Our waiters on both occasions were pros -- they knew everything about the dishes, didn't flinch when we said tap water was fine, nor when I ordered the tuna "not too rare." (It came out to perfection.) Our hostess was as sweet as could be, so perhaps they rotate staff. The manager (or owner?) was actually circulating the room checking on diners and their needs , something I don't often see, but which clearly brings good results. All in all, a polished and wonderful dining experience.

Will Not be Going Back
I asked for my salmon to be cooked "very well-done." I like my fish and meat to be cooked all the way through, so sue me! The waitress started making a face and scrunching up her nose at this request. It was so visible how disgusted she was that my husband asked her if there was a problem. she said something about the fish being fishy when overdone, but she wrote down the order. She then looked at me and the whole table and asked in front of everyone if I was pregnant. As I was sipping my wine, my husband told her "No, she just likes her food cooked." The NERVE of this stupid woman!! Food was unsatisfying, and then it took 45 minutes to get the check after we requested it. Go the East Village and Alphabet City for the best food at the best value, not this stuffy place.

Wonderful Dinner Except for the Hostess
A group of us went to Aquagrill on Friday night. Everything was great except for one thing...the rude, snobby hostess who "greeted" us at the front. Other than that unpleasant circumstance, the rest of the night was really nice. The waitress was attentive and informative. The food was fresh and delicious. We tried the miso chilean sea bass (awesome), a tuna special and the scallop & pumpkin gnocchi special. For dessert we sampled the walnut tart & ginger cake w/mascarpone ice cream (special). All in all a wonderful experience minus the woman at the front. Hopefully, she will learn some manners and treat customers with courtesy and respect.

RAW & wriggling...
well, practically! The oysters were out of this world! So unbelievably fresh. I've never had malpeques quite like these- although they've always been my favorite, these were a whole new level of wow-ness & briny wonderment. What hit me? 18 of them to be exact. And a couple of $23 flutes of pink champagne. ouch said my wallet and skull the next am. Anyway, the special: bay scallops and shrimp smeared and slathered in butter were to die for. GO!
