Last summer we were told 20 min waiting time so decided to wait. It turned out 55 minutes waiting and it was so ok by the stuff members and the manager. Food was ok not amazing. Mannerless staff including the manager. Over priced considering the treatment you get.

The quality of the seafood is still fantastic but the overall ambience has declined in recent years now that they cater to a younger demographic--maybe a glass of wine each, an appetizer and splitting an entree. It's just too cramped and too loud for a nice dinner out especially on weekends. Lunch is best.

The reason to dine here is the raw bar, while the fish entrees are good and fresh they often seem a little bland. There are also too many fish entrees prepared with truffle and mushroom sauces. Many of the fish preparations don't hit the right note. That said, the fish is fresh, it's the sauce or preparation that falls short and makes the entree fall short. I won't go here again for fish, just the great raw bar. I've had fresh fish prepared with a better variety of choices and more flavorful at other places.

We arrived early after finding parking, yes actually found parking on 6th Ave, right outside the place. Now I know why this place is one the the city's best seafood spots. This place has the most awesome raw bar! I let them chose the oyster selection... incredibly fresh, just awesome! As for the main, I chose the swordfish, which was just great, first in presentation, then is taste, then in portion size, just awesome! The service was great, our waitress knew the menu and even suggested a wine that just totally complimented the dinner. If you desire awesome service then this place is where you need to go. We left happy and we know we'll be back.

How sad. To have such good food, but such disappointing service. Have eaten here before and it was terrific. Luck of the draw who you get as a waiter? Had reservations, seated in back by the kitchen, which was loud and hot, then we had a waiter who we rarely saw. We waited for 45 minutes before finally getting some beverages, we would wait after we were done with each course, an extra half hour before anybody would even come by us.. He never did come back and ask us what we wanted from the dessert menu. Never got the coffee one of us ordered. We finally flagged down a bus boy and asked for the check. Very sad. We wont becoming back. I like the food, but my time and how I am treated is important to me when I dine out.

That the staff, especially the management lacks manners. I saw customers wait for a long time at the table after having been greeted with the tacky air of a mediocre Long Island "gourmet restaurant, my bartender had a confident feistiness of an upscale daycare help, sigh. Behind my back a manager trained new staff for 20 minutes in a loud voice, which made it difficult to continue a private conversation. He was apparently on some power trip instructing a waiter. The food is great, but the style is provincial.

This restaurant is a wonderful now as when it was rated Best Seafood in NYC. The chef prepares delicious fish dishes with the most wonderful fresh seasonal vegetables. Every course was outstanding.! It is fancy food but not fussy, the service is wonderful Sitting outdoors is fun and having oysters and wine/champagne at oyster bar is sexy. Loved it!
