A wonderful port in the storm

We arrived in NYC just in time for the blizzard. After checking into our hotel, we braved the elements and headed out in search of much needed food. We stumbled across Applejacks and couldn't have been more thankful to have found it. The menu had a wide variety of food (great for kids) and our waitress was a delight. She even made our younger son mac & cheese that wasn't on the menu. The food was tasty and warm and just what we needed. The price was great for NY and our older son said the chocolate cake was awesome! He wanted to go back there to eat the next day.

    Avoid Apple Jacks

We were in town for our 10 yr anniversary and the concierge from out hotel recommended this place to us. First of all, the menu is huge. We finally decided on steak and chicken fingers. Overpriced and tasteless is what we ended up getting. Oh yeah, no refills on drinks...what a joke. The waitress was less than attentive. Will never go back or recommend this place.

We live a few blocks from Applejacks, but had never eaten there. We had guest in town a few days ago and dropped in there for lunch. I had a hot turkey sandwich, and it was wonderful! I could only eat about half of it, and saved the rest for later. My son had meatloaf, and they gave him two HUGE pieces of meatloaf, which he loved. Our friends weren't every hungry, so they just had cheesecake. They thought it was some of the best they'd ever had- and they are big critics of cheesecake. The waitress was very good, very friendly, and made the experience nicer. The mgr was great, and we had no problems at all. It's not cheap, but if it's cheap in NYC, it's probably not good.

    Great Veal Parm & Speg.

I take my college students from NC to NYC yearly for spring break and we have eaten there everytime, then last Oct my wife and I went to NYC for our 40th anniversay and ate there as well. I am taking the students (58) again this March and we wille eat there again a couple times at leat. The food is great, the service is fast and good, the atmosphere is relaxing and you are not rushed out the door!

This place is terrible and overpriced. I ordered an omelet with mushrooms and cheese for $11.50. I swear it was made with 2 eggs. And the most ridiculous part is they served it with french fries. When I asked the waitress she said "they are home fries." Really?

    Good Applejack

The last time I went to the Apple Jack Diner, I had a good time. We couldn't decide what to order, so the waitress made a suggestion. I had waffles with icecream. Yummy. The waitress was very pleasant and fun.

    Fine NYC Diner

We had lunch here. We had the chicken souvlaki with a side of fries. The food was prepared well and tasted very good. I felt the prices were a little high for a dinner though.
