food
The food is not fresh. When I want an omlette I do not want it to taste like 100 others were in the pan before mine...and i do not want my eggs cooked in bacon grease! The service is spotty to boot. I say it is not what its cracked up to be.

Do not go here!
I ordered an egg and Canadian bacon sandwich. The roll was buttered, but not toasted. I wasn't asked if I wanted more coffee. It is a tourist trap. If you want a fantastic breakfast experience, go elsewhere.

unpleasant
Tourist trap. Pleasant servers, but the food' is not good. Salad is a sad iceberg lettuce. Grilled cheese arrived a mess, oozing across the plate. Cole slaw soupy and sharp, not good. French fries pale, plastic, flavorless mand lukewarm. The eggplant parm was so hard to cut, and such an awful rubbery eerie brown color, stamped with holes, my companion had to send it away. The check had hidden charges on it. Got clipped for an extra 2 bucks because I didn't order the grilled cheese and fries as a "deluxe"! Oh, please. People, walk to Ninth Avenue or go anywhrere else.

Delicious
I was impressed with my overall experience at Applejack's Diner. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting and the staff was friendly and attentive. My tunafish salad sandwich came quickly...thank God cause I was starving. But most importantly, it was DELICIOUS!!!! Next time I'm in town, Applejack's Diner will definitely be on my menu.

Anywhere else is better
I moved to an apartment very close to Applejack about a year ago and I really wanted it to be my "go-to" diner. I've been three times and each time is absolutely disappointing (I was hoping I was just going on off days). The service is okay, but the food is some of the poorest diner food I've ever had. I suppose it makes sense as they cater to tourists and don't count on returning customers. If you're looking for a good diner in the area, stay away from here - I go to The Flame on 9th, but really anywhere will be better.

A cool Greek diner
I went here with a friend tonight. Great service, good food. We were seated immediately and the food came quickly, exactly as ordered. Huge portions; I had a club sandwich that was so stuffed I couldn't get all the layers in my mouth at once! I would definitely come back again.

Unfair Ratings
I have been going to New York since 2002 at least five times a year, and I usually eat at Applejacks. I found all the food was of excellent quality, and have never made any complaints. I have noticed that some people that go in there, who are mostly tourists, expect to be waited on when they sit down immediatly, even though other people have been seated before them.
