Not coming back
Went to dine on 01/15/2012 with my daughter before theater. They made sure to charge me 17% gratuity at 6:08 p.m.- carefully following their policy of charging it after 6 p.m.!! Food was acceptable. Service lousy. Eventhough there were plenty of tables available, since we were only two guests, we were placed in tiny table right in the way of every customer and waiter. It took way too long to get the main entree after the appetizer. Wonder if making time to charge the so undeserved 17% gratuity. Not coming back. Rather get a hotdog on the street.

The old bait & switch
The menu prices are totally overblown for mediocre food. Our server got one of our meals wrong and we had to wait another 10 mnutes before it arrived. He barely paid our table any mind we had ti literally shout him out to get extra napkins and lemons, etc. The drinks were watered down and when the bill came, well, we had the surprise of our life. They charged us a 17% gratuity - not suggested, but "You must pay"!!! We never saw a sign, our server never told us. He pointed out that there was a sign up front - an 8x11 plaque that read "parties of 6 or more or after 6PM will be charged a 17% gratuity". I felt duped. You think the server would have mentioned this to us...poor service, mediocre food and a fat bill. This location is not getting a return visit from me.

Mozzerella on the heel
I laughed out loud when I read the title of the review below. Although she does not mention the mozzerella stick on her heel in the actual review, I wonder if she walked around with one on her shoe too? I wore a pair of stilettos that spiked a stick when I was there - and I did not see it until I crossed my leg in a cab! Now I know why those kids laughed! Do they drop them on the floor a lot?

Mozzerella Sticks on the mind and heel
Went with a girlfriend who has an appetite like a sailor. Honey, the booth was slipppery and I nearly hit the wall as I slid my way in! Had a couple of absolutely fabulous Kiwi Melon Sangrias which was a new taste twist for me, and no less than I expect from this establishment. My GF gets grumpy when she cocktails, and she was drinking the LI Ice Teas, so after the waitress came around and nearly rolled her eyes when we were not ready, and GF nearly snapped back, I knew it was time to order. As I said, my friend was hungry and she wanted to get the trio of apps for $22 and then an entree, but I'm already planning for my new Fall Wardrobe and don't want to squeeze in any more than I do now!! So we got the appie sampler. I still don't know how they make boneless Buffalo wings but baby it's my new favorite bird part!!! The quesadilla looked good, but after some fork archery, my friend took the whole thing. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin, which was my entree, left me stunned. I need to go back!

I miss the chimi cheescake dessart
I can't believe the corporate got rid of the chimi-cheesecake dessart. This was alot of people favorites and it is no longer on the menu. So many staff even commented that alot of people orderd this popular item and they don't understand why it was taken off the menu. I really wish you guys would bring it back. I need that dessert because it is a good stress reliever for me. :) Also, i just found out that the company is no longer during hapy Hour, do you really know how many people that attracted. I was surely one of them. I do not go to Applebee's as much as I use to because of these two really big mistakes you guys have made.

Not worth your time..or your money
Considering the wealth of eateries on this Times Sq. block you would think that a chain like Applebee's would try at least...a little bit...to make your dining experience tolerable. I should have known something was wrong when last Wed. nt I went w/ my wife to eat there after the theater. The staff was loud and boisterous and shouting out to one another...and the restaurant was nearly empty. Clearly the staff was having a good time but when we were presented with a dirty, filthy, grimy and sticky booth where we were seated...I knew to expect the worst (the waitress didn't even think to wipe the table). The menu is way overpriced ($17 for a hamburger!), the pasta dishes hovering somewhere around $22!! My wife ordered a chicken fajita dish which arrived salty and cold. I ordered an appetizer containing McDonalds-style chicken nuggets, and four small slices of what appeared to be a cheese quesadilla...yes these were cold too. As we began to pick at our meal, which we were considering leaving and dining elsewhere...the waitress asked us if we were done!? I told her we were only seating for a short time...when she returned a short time later, we made up our minds and left. Scratch this place from any further dining experience...and a BIG word of caution to tourists who may consider this place...it AIN'T CHEAP!

Just great
This is a great place, just depends what you like, the chicken in oasted garlic and cheesse is amazing, I've been here many times and service is great, when you go out to eat is to enjoy and relax, not to rush. The cheese cake and chocolate mousse is great.
