Went to Applebee's on Emmons Ave last night. The food was lousy and the service was worse. The waiter was unattentive and unprofessional. Even when I complained about the awful sangria (served in a beer mug) and asked to return it, he didn't offer an apology, nothing. He just took it and walked away. He didn't ask if if I wanted a new one or even something else. We ordered shooters for dessert and the whipped cream was warm and milky, and running down the outside of the dessert cups. If you want great service, try Applebee's in Five Towns. Excellent waiters and great conversation with the manager who was stopping by each table to make sure patrons were happy. We are never going back to Emmons Ave.

This was my first time at Applebee's and it was not what I expected. Sure I the prices were affordable but the food was not that great. Our waiter was very polite. Unless the food gets better, I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

Oh yeah..I forgot to mention their smoking policy. There is a nice outside section but you are allowed to smoke there. I was very unhappy with this. We wanted to enjoy our time in some nice weather, but couldn't as people kept lighting up. I spoke with the manager (who was very polite) but he said that was the policy.

My family occasionally comes to this place when we want a relaxing lunch or dinner with decent food that's not too expensive. The service, in our experiences, have been very good: very polite, friendly and attentive.

I've had he misfortune to go in to an Applebees before, so why I went in to this one still befuddles me. Any how, all can say is "yes, it really is as poor as you remember from the last Applebees you visited, so don't bother". Food swims in grease; mixed drinks contain no liqour; service is past rude, in fact it is positively threatening. Avoid!
