Not worth it for the price

I ordered an Oriental chicken salad (my favorite meal at Applebee's) I paid 11.99 and I had about 4 bites of salad, it was the smallest serving I ever saw, after tax and tip for both salads (myself and a co-worker) I paid 30.00 and was starving. I cant believe what a small portion for the pirce, I could have gotten a salad double the size for less than half the price anywhere else and the delivery guy pulled the "no change" trick When I handed him 40.00. Also there were no napkins or forks to eat with. Very disappointed!

    overprice

me and my friends went there after the movies because of the ticket discount. i order chicken with vegetables and rice. it cost almost $20. when my food arrived, the chicken portion was so little and it didn't taste good. the vegetables we plain and the rice was soggy. well when we got the bill they forgot to charge me for my drink which is good. i would not go there again.

    Best Service In Town

My husband and I stayed in the city for a weekend. We were staying at the Embassy suites which happened to reside in the same building as Applebees. The first two days of our long weekend we ate in private establishments. On our last day we chose Applebees for the convienence of being next door. The food was good, not great. The prices were very expensive compared to private restaraunts in Little Italy, and Midtown. However the service was excellent. Our waiter was one of the best waiters my husband and I have ever had. He brought us drinks and refills over and over. It was a hot day and he took care of us. We asked for the AC to be turned up, and he asked his manager right in front of us, to accomodate us. The manager was also very friendly and was seen throughout the restaraunt cleaning tables and helping the staff. Our server also helped us with commuting on the subway, explaining the bus system and giving us a lesson on ordering drinks; telling what is the best recipe for a Margarita. He also let us know about a discount we would receive by staying at the Hotel. When we left my husband left his wallet in the booth or on the floor. the waiter ran down 2 blocks to give my husband his wallet back. Which went above and beyond what most would do, while waiting on other tables. We would go back even though the prices were high, just for the service we received.

    Not worth the price

Though we have lived in BPC for over a year, last night was the first time my husband and I have tried Applebee's there. I was disappointed with my meal. Having ordered the chicken fried chicken which was around $16.89 (one of the cheapest entrees on the menu) I expected more than what I got. The bland platter came with a generous slice of chicken over mashed potatoes served with a handful of limp, microwaved broccoli pieces. For that price anywhere else, I would have received a basket of bread, a salad and maybe even a cup of soup. My husband wasn't very hungry so he just had onion soup which he said was good. However, we won't be going back.

    Unpleasant delivery experience

I ordered takeout from Applebee's one night. My overpriced, subpar hamburger was priced at $14.99. The minimum delivery amount is $15. They were unwilling to make an exception and made me purchase something else so that it could be delivered.

    It's a chain

And it tasted like it. Gigantic platters of passable stuff, most of it garnish. High prices for what you got, but friendly service. I suspect it's there for the tourists and I recommend leaving it to them.
