Tried this place a couple times, They never quite get it right, in fact they fail every time in some way. Last night I ordered a 12 oz New York strip steak and what I got could easily been mistaken for a 4 0z trim. The services was better this time than in the past but there is a problem when 12 ounces turns into 4 ounces! I ordered medium rare and there was barely any pink. Never again!

We stopped in the applebees at 50th & brodway, on 11/19/2010. We asked for the 2 for 20 menu, as advertised on tv & was told they don't honor tv ads at the location. We were handed a regular menu, which showed outrageous prices (hamburger $16, etc.) When I questioned the prices, I was told the prices were always raised during the holidays. After ordering, we waited quite awhile for the order to come to the table. Food portions were smaller than usual. Was looking to refill drinks during meal, but server was hard to find. Arriving home, sent e-mail to customer relations. Was told prices are high due to location. Don't intend to visit this place again.

you guys should put the radius in which you deliver. You are on 50th and broadway and I am on 47th and 9th yet you couldnt deliver? interesting....poor customer service.

We visited Applebees based on the previous review on Menupages.com, however, despite the menu being broad and varied, and the initial impressions of the restaurant being pretty good, the whole experience descended into a really unpleasant one for us. The drinks and starters came along and everything was fine with them. Then, our waitress seemed to go missing for a long period of time. Three out of four main courses were put on the table, which was fine, but my daughter had to wait 10 further minutes for here main course, which was Chicken Tenders, and should really have been easily ready before the other meals. The restaurant became very cold, and we noticed that several other customers were eating their meals, with their coats still on. I then asked for another drink, which eventually came, but was the wrong type of beer. I then began to study the movements of the Manager, who drifted in an out of the kitchen, and walked around the restaurant, looking, but not actually "seeing" what was going on. There was so many staff on that night, many of whom seemed to have sophisticated communications equipment, with ear pieces and microphones fitted to their heads, but what this place needed was a really sharp and attentative manager, to just stand in one place and watch the tables. If the manager was doing this, he would have spotted that many people were cold, that we were missing a main meal for over ten minutes, and that generally people were not finding it a happy experience. To add insult to the situation, I was handed my bill, without being asked if I wanted coffee or dessert, and the waitress said that she had taken off the price of my daughters meal. However, I was not looking for a "freebie" but just a nice pleasant dining experience, in a restaurant where it matters if you are not happy. Probably for the first time in my whole life, I left there without tipping, which I didn't feel good about, but I could not justify rewarding anyone for that level of service. Perhaps it was a once off last night, but I will not be returning to this restaurant. However, I doubt if it will effect their business, as they probably do not rely on repeat customers, being so well positioned just off Times Square. Just as well really!

The last time I went to this Applebee's was in January '07 and it wasn't too good. The food wasn't hot enough, the broccoli was raw and the bill was way too high. Last night I went back to Applebee's enticed by their 3-courses for $14.99 and the experience was significantly improved - I wonder if they have been taken over. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait too long for a table, service was good and food arrived to order. Overall great value and a big improvement. The overall menu is still slightly expensive but sticking to the 3-course offer keeps the bill sensible.
