I first had wild boar in Italy many years ago and was very excited to see it on a menu in New York. The wild boar lasagna at Apizz was absolutely delicious! I could have eaten an entire bowl of their red sauce--talk about a taste explosion! I'm not sure what another reviewer is talking about with the bread. We were served deliciously crusty bread with fresh ricotta and tomato sauce and were not charged for it. A really wonderful meal, well worth the splurge.

Went here on a date 2 Fridays ago. Had no problem getting table for 2 at 8pm. We had to wait at the small bar for about 5-6 minutes then were promptly seated. The atmosphere is great though a bit loud. The food is awesome to say the least. We had the Ravioli with Butternut Squash and the Gnocchi with Short Ribs and both were prepared to perfection and tasted incredibly. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu. The bread with sauce and ricotta cheese is also tremendous. I have been told by numerous friends that the Meatballs stuffed with Ricotta and covered in red sauce are ridiculously good. I highly recommend for a date or just a nice meal out.

We loved this restaurant, from the food, to the decor, to the good service. Unfortunately, they surprised us at the end of the meal with the bill, which included a $10 charge for bread, something we didn't ask for. It was an unfair charge and left a bad taste in the mouth. And that's sad because the food was splendid. I can honestly say that I've tasted a more delicious polenta. The ravioli were magical, I think I could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also had the meatballs, which went above and beyond, such amazing flavor. The dessert, bread pudding, was OK, nothing to rave about. But the bread, ugh...I'd so go back but the bread...really?

The ravioli was to die for. Everything was really great. We had the proscuitto and pear and a pizza. Then for the mains we had the whole roasted fish, ravioli, gnocchi, and meatballs. It was all so delicious, and the vibe of the restaurant was great. Definitely recommend!

My fiance took me here for birthday. Food was great. You can get half portions of the pasta, though it doesnt mention it on the menu. Meatballs are delicious and comes 2 per order. Lasagna and ravioli were very good as well. There were many tables having wine after there meal, and they didnt rush you out. Bar area isnt great and dont reccomend meeting for drinks here before dinner, though nice wine selection. Had 133 - and it was awesome

I have been to Apizz several times and greatly enjoyed both experiences. First of all, the atmosphere is warm, cozy, classy and smells intoxicatingly like delicious garlic (you smell it from the open wood burning stove). The menu is broad enough to satiate all palates, but not at all scattered. A few stand out items include: veal meatballs are amazing; butternut squash ravioli combines sweet and salty incredibly well, lasagna is delish, and much more. The service has always been quite good --ex: they comped dessert after sticking a candle in it for my father's birthday. I also really liked that they did not rush you at all and are very good at promptly honoring reservations. Overall, a GREAT restaurant and dining experience. Worth trying it yourself!

Surprised to walk in and find such a beautiful, warm restaurant on an otherwise empty street. Drinks, food and wine were all delicious. Service was fine. The staff was knowledgeable, but the bartender could have been a bit more friendly. My short rib gnocchi blew me away and my friend had the skate which was also very nice. The waiter recommended the Gavi white wine to accompany and it was perfect. I would go back again anytime. I'm a new fan!
