just went to apiary with friends and was v disappointed. was told my wait would be 10 mins and ended up being 1.5 hrs. food was not worth the wait. was given free dessert and a coupon towards our next meal, but would not go back any time soon.

i came here with a couple of friends on a friday night and we were very disappointed with the food. while everything on the menu looks good, all the dishes were flavorless. and it's not cheap... the service was okay, but we waited an hour to be seated. not recommended, there are far better restaurants in the area.

Came here with a girlfriend and we had a nice time. Crab cake was exceptional....Nice find in the East Village......Sick of the NYU frat crowd down there and this place didn't disappoint.........Great wine list but also an exceptional beer list with a very knowledgeable staff that was very helpful.

I went here for dinner with my boyfriend. The place is quite modern and beautiful. The service was excellent. Wine - very satisfying. Food was good - didn't blow us away but still good. We started w/the crab cake (amazing lemon citrus sauce) and chilled tomato soap (wonderful). Followed that by the rabbit (not much flavor) but the spaetzel was great, and the hanger steak. We shared a trio of ice creams. Light and sweet. It would be nice when they get their liquor license. I think this place should do well.

Food was nearly perfect the bread and desserts being the only sub-five-star items. The wine list has heft but doesn't overwhelm and abounds with unique and delicious selections. The service could not be better they confirm reservations, seat immediately, serve food promptly, chat and accommodate, are friendly but not pushy. The atmosphere is modern and lovely and would probably be great for a date but is nice for more platonic meals as well. I recommend the heirloom tomato crostini, the hangar steak, spice lamb, any of the rosé wines, and the sparkling cocktails. BEER, WINE, AND SAKE ONLY. Expensive.

promising restaurant in the middle of an ugly block, easy to overlook exterior. inside, nice design (not sure about thsoe floor lamps though) but small, a bit tight with the tables and at turns quite loud with its low ceiling. Not surprisingly honey shows up a fair amount on the menu (and ? unannounced in some dishes). Service was attentive though there was along gap between apps and entrees. Crab Cake was large but a bit gluey, sweet and not hot enough. Totmato soup was pretty good but also a bit sweet. Halibut and Rabiit both ok but just lacking depth with the rabbit dish being too salty by the end. Everything was pretty enough. Nice wine list but pricey e.g, 3 Pinots by the glass but all at $23! With Manacle's chops he could do better and this looks like it might be a transient stop for him.

We had a good meal at Apiary last night. While the quality was good, I don't think it was good enough for the price ($26 - 28 an entree). I feel like I've had better meals that were the same or less money. Props, however, for incredibly nice servers who were eager to help.
