Aperitivo

The food is great and inexpensive for Italian food.

I'm usually a much bigger fan of thick crust pizza, but Aperitivo's thin crust pizza blew me away! My table of 4 ordered 2 large pizzas, which turned out to be the perfect amount for a party our size. The buffalo margherita pizza offered a light and highly flavorful red sauce, complete with an abundance of fresh cheese and a basil leaf on each slice. The Tivo White Pizza -- complete with figs and prosciutto. -- offered a unique and delicious combination of sweet flavors. We finished our meal with the black & white mousse cake and the chocolate molten cake ... and would recommend both. To make a long story short, we went to Aperitivo upon the recommendation of long-time patrons, and would now be only too happy to return. ;)

i think a lot of the good reviews sound like insiders. this place is decidedly average, but reliably so. There is something comforting about that. The service is definitely challenged. The food can range from tasty to downright mediocre. The ambiance is nice when the volume of the cheesy music is in check. All of that said, its reliable in its failings and it can be a decent neighborhood standby when you find the dish that you like. It is a cool space. I like the penne with smoked salmon but I'm not likely to order anything else. i don't get what there is to LOVE about this place. That can only be a friend of an owner.

Having lived in Rome for some time, I love having Aperitivo near my apartment to go to and bring my back to that feel. It may not be the type of Italian fare that everyone in America is used to, but between the occasional techno beats, the low prices, and really homemade, special dishes this place is very authentic Cafe style Italian eating. I would recommend the cheese plate for a large serving of tasty cheeses and fruits and the chicken salad is a great meal of its own. The pesto is spot on and the Saltimbocca Alla Romana and Maiale Ai Funghi are amazing esp for that price point. I usually go to brunch here almost every week as well and the brunch is an amazing deal for a big meal with coffee, juices, or a bit more for unlimited cocktails. The frittatas are a greasy and extremely delicious morning treat to fight away the hangover blues.

so i ordered a sandwich from here one day, and the delivery guy showed up without change. he was dressed in those pants that are usually limited to kitchen workers so i figured he must be not be the regular delivery person. the sandwich was pretty good so a few months later, i ordered from there again...again no change. i will never order from here again.

I checked out this restaurant based on all the good reviews it got here. I was pretty disappointed. The food wasn't terrible, but the other reviewer who said the bread was from the bodega was dead on. The staff were young and inexperienced - never refilled our water even though the place was empty - and they were blasting cheesey techno music throughout our meal - a bit much for 7pm on a Monday night in an empty restaurant! The food was okay, but nothing amazing. Given all the other options in Park Slope, I am not surprised that this place was empty. Not worth it.

We tried take out from Apertivo for the first time last night and were blown away by the quality of all the dishes we ordered and the very affordable prices. This is our new absolute go-to place for Italian in Park Slope. Delivery was quick and the food was fresh and delicious.
