    Amazing!

We tried take out from Apertivo for the first time last night and were blown away by the quality of all the dishes we ordered and the very affordable prices. This is our new absolute go-to place for Italian in Park Slope. Delivery was quick and the food was fresh and delicious.

    good in house, poor delivery

I have eaten in the restaurant several times and have always had a good experience. Tonight since it was raining I decided to order in, which I probably will not be doing again. The food took too long to arrive and then the delivery man showed up with absolutely no change. My bill was $15 and I gave him a $20. I had to wait while he ran to the deli on the corner to get change. I dont understand how a delivery person could do their job without having change...I was not about to give him a $5 tip for an order of pasta.

    never again

After reading most reviews I was very surprised with how poor this food was. The bread on the table was obviously a loaf of italian bread they bought from the bodega. The fried calamari was very greasy and served in a pool of oil. Next, I ordered a steak medium rare which came out well done. I sent it back and it returned completely raw. The only positive thing I can mention was the good service.

    Fun place with good food

I never wright a review until I've been to a place a few times. Could be a bad day (it happens) or just a fluke (some times a bad place gets lucky) I've been to Aperitivo many times - week days, week ends even grabbed their super cheap lunch with a friend a few times. Althought I can't say it's been perfect every time - it's always been good, real good. The gnocchi (both beet and potato) have been light as air with just the right amount of sauce. the paste is always al dente and the pomodoro sauce is super fresh tasting. Appetizers are my thing so the selection there is perfect for my finicky tastes. They added crabcakes in place of the cod fish fritters - a good idea I never cared for the cod. The sauteed artichokes are delicious as well as the crostini. The vibe is energetic and the staff is fun and friendly. A great place to kick back and enjoy the evening with friends.

    Outstanding!

My friend and I stumbled upon Appertivo on Tuesday night as we looked for a relatively quiet place to chat over a drink. As we walked in the door we were greeted with a cheerful "Hey guys!" from the bartender and then an uber cute waiter seated us and explained the "specials" (it was St. Patty's day and wine and appetizers were $2 off). He twirled (literally!) attentively the entire night and cracked jokes - brownie points for that. We ended up sharing a bottle of wine, a cheese platter and fried calamari - everything was delicious and the bill came to under $40! Will def. come back again.

    Surprised

Aperitivo is really a nice find here on 5th. Truthfully, I did not like my fiorst visit back in it's BYOB days, but I've returned a few times in the since they've gotten their liquor license, and it's gotten better and better - dare I say I've become a regular? The staff is super friendly and it's like a scene from "Cheer's " every time some one walks in. The steak is the best deal in town for this carnivore. It's always med-rare and the fries are definitely not of the freezer bag variety. I love the pasta's also - both gnocchi dishes are as light as air. The turkey meatballs taste are nice and garlicy in the fresh tomato sauce. The fried calamari is crispy outside and tender inside. The marinara sauce served of with it has the right tang and spice. They made these cool "aperitivo burgers" for the super bowl Gorgonzola, bacon, arugola and their secret sauce that blew me away - are you putting that on the menu??
