    Good Atmosphere

Nice place in Brooklyn Heights. You can eat at the bar. I have nothing bad to say!

    Not a fan

I've been twice; both times I didn't think the food was good at all (poor guacamole- my fault for ordering that). This most recent time the service was horrendous. The waiter apologized, saying that the kitchen was behind, but he did nothing to make the experience better (i.e. still took forever to get the check to us). I can think of at least 15 other restaurants in the near vicinity that I'd go to over this place.

    not pleased ...

i'm somewhat shocked that a garden salad can be appalling, but the tomatoes and lettuce were so unfresh it made the salad basically inedible. the fries were clearly microwaved. i won't return. cute space, great menu, but lack of execution makes this place a flop.

    unhappy

Thought the food was pretty disappointing, and the service was subpar. There are way better restaurants to go to/order from in that area.

    i've given up on them

I've been here many times. The food is pretty good, as is the price, but the service is deplorable. Today, I waited 45 minutes to get 2 over easy eggs and french fries. And one of the eggs was well-done. Perhaps they cooked one egg when I ordered, and made the other 40 minutes later. I don't know. I do know that I'm not going there anymore. If you don't care when your food comes, eat here. If you do, go elsewhere.

    mixed experiences...

We've been to Apt. 138 a few times now and have had mixed experiences. The first time was great! Good service, good food and a great overall experience. The second time we got pretty generic food and service. The third and last time we went the service was so poor! The restaurant was dead and our waiter went MIA so often that another waitress tried to help us out with the excuse, "He's really busy right now". We wondered what he was busy with... everyone in our party of 6 had pretty subpar food. The place is very cool and the patio is great, but go at your own risk!

    A lovely meal- every time!

Surprised to see the complaints. This is one of my "go to" places when I want to be outside, enjoy simple food, and just relax. The waiters are earnest and strive to please the customers. I've never had poor service. The food is fresh, straight forward, and not terribly high brow. The steak salad: excellent. The sliders: excellent. Great onion rings. Not many wines to choose from, but they suffice. The downstairs-outside area is just lovely on a clear night. I have to complain a bit about the tables for four people. Too small! Not very expensive. Lunch for two ran $27. Dinner for 3 ran about $50.
