    Bleh

I really wish this place would cut there losses and head out. I live in the neighborhood and stop in once in a while but after tonight, no more! It's not consistent. Food is trendy with little quality. Greasy, greasy, greasy and not in a "oh, this is so good and I am so naughty" kind of way. Just poor. The only good thing about this place is the all day happy hour. I think they make all there money on booze and mascarade as a real restaurant. Not fooling me!

    New menu is delicious

The menu switched to seasonal items last fall and while the old menu was tasty, the new menu is delicious. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the new menu and every dish I have had (been several times) has packed great flavors and been clearly of high quality. I recommend the Hake, the fish is meaty and comes over a bed of delicious tangerines, edamame, beets and arugula all in a light poppy seed dressing. Need I say more! Love this place.

    New menu changed everything

The food has greatly improved since they changed menus last month. Fantastic dishes. Well worth it of you haven't tried Apartment in a while. You will be impressed.

    Disappointed

A friend & I wandered into the place on a quiet Thursday after work. The main room looked deserted, we were offered a table there or "downstairs" (the neon sign over the stairs said "Gameroom") so we opted for the main upstairs room. Our server was congenial and helpful. We both ordered the fish and chips special. The fish and the chips were soggy not crisp, not at all the way they're supposed to be. We also realized later that "downstairs" was also the entrance to the outdoor garden which would have been a nice place to sit. Maybe we should have been offered "inside or outside" as the choice. Overall, this place was disappointing, it could have, should have, been so much better than it was.

    Not recommended

This is the third time I've been to this place. What a waste of a Friday night! My GF waited for nearly an hour for them to cook a couple of burgers; the wait staff were more interested in getting us drinks, to inflate their bottom line, and even those took em 4 ever to serve. In a nutshell, I've gotten better food and service at a chaine restaurant.

    My new favorite restaurant

My boyfriend and I had a late dinner here last weekend and it was one of the best meals we've ever had. I had the tilapia sandwich and he had the salmon. The sandwich was amazing and the salmon was cooked perfectly (very fluffy, and slightly rare in the middle). Great atmosphere too. Laid back & casual. We'd definitely recommend this place to all of our friends.

    Never again.

I can't rate the food, because I was never seated. Hubs and I went on Saturday night. We walked in, the bar was 3/4 full, and there were - to our count - three open tables in the front, and half the restaurant open in the back. It was 8:10 p.m. The hostess told us the wait would be half an hour. She was waiting for reservations to arrive, and one woman at the bar was waiting for her companion to show up, but she couldn't give an estimated time. Husband and I were ready to be seated and eat. When we pointed out that the restaurant was half empty and we thought a half hour wait was unreasonable, the hostess insisted on honoring the reservations (um, hi, half the restaurant is empty...all your reservations were running late) and the woman at the bar whose party was not complete. I've worked as a hostess before at a an upscale restaurant that received lots of traffic. It's common practice to hold reservations for 15 minutes, and then seat walk-ins if the reservations don't show. You sit with a floor plan, and rejigger your tables to accomodate as many customers as you can - the ones who made reservations and walk-ins. That's how you make $$ for your restaurant, not turning away complete parties who are hungry and willing to patronize your establishment. There are plenty of other restaurants in the neighborhood worth trying. Apartment 138 doesn't understand "customer service".
