Simply perfect
My friend and I were walking and noticed the cafe. We decided to give it a try. It was the very best surprise! I loved the atmosphere, the food and service was very good and we had a wonderful evening. Even the live music was enjoyable. Thank you and see you soon!

For drinks, sure!
If you're in the area and want to grab a few cocktails, why not? The place is TINY and really cramped, but the drinks are $9 a pop. The fruit is DELICIOUS. I cannot comment on the food because I haven't had any but I'm not surprised the others thought it was gross. it didn't look very appetizing.

nice!
Charming part of the visit was that we got a table outside and it felt like completely out-of- Manhattan. I liked the food althouth i am very picky, maybe because i ordered neither chicken nor vegetables (trout). The waitress was accomodating, and overall experience was pleasant. I want to return there while outside sitting is available.

Moderate food for a not so moderate price
Went here on a Saturday night, small place, cozy looking. In terms of food. Overpriced for the medium quality of it. Entree I got was lamb shank. It was partially cold, and only barely warm in places. Not even filling and I'm not a big guy (130 lbs). Desert? Fondue, sounds good right? 10 bucks? We'll get a decent amount of fruit too! Wrong. LITERALLY 2 strawberries, half a kiwi, and half a banana. And the chocolate was definitely just chocolate syrup from a bottle. Over a candle. Warm, but canceled by the COLD fruit from a fridge. Service: Quick. But that's not necessarily a good thing at a place like this. I'd like to relax, and not feel rushed. Advisory! They have a clause on their menu: "We may charge 18% gratuity!" Um. It's not even predicated on party size. It's just "Hey, we may charge you 18%." Decor: Fine, but not great. Weird plastic tropical leaves on the ceiling made me wonder "Why?" This menu is not even remotely tropical, but more balkan. Bottom line: Unless you want to be disappointed by an intriguing exterior, don't go here.

great date place
I don't know what the last two reviewers are talking about. I went to A.C. last night for dinner and felt the food was fresh, the service great, and the food delicious. Start with the Trout Roulade and you will not be disappointed. Tried it upon recommendation from the waitress/bartender and was completely impressed by the lightly fried roulade of flaked, smoked trout, creme fraiche, and Russian pasta topped with caviar and served with horseradish sour cream. Completely out-of-this-world. The ambiance is also great - very dark and intimate, perfect for a date or small group. Try Anyway Cafe and you will not be disappointed.

fraternity boys cooking
Please tell me there arent frat boys cooking this junk after a hard night's drinking. And with a hangover. The food seems like it's re-heated takeout from another restaurant that was made a week ago. Stay away from anything that has meat or vegetables in it.

No Stove?
So...I got a dish of disgusting reheated chicken and canned mushrooms (covered in cold, rubbery cheese after I specifically asked for a non-dairy dish) and my beau got reheated beef as a "stew".... the service was slow, we were late for our next event, our food came out cold, the salad came out after the main dishes. The waitress was pleasant but totally uninformed of the menu. The place got a little frat-rowdy. I just don't understand how a place can pretend to be a restaurant without an effin' stove, you know? Wish I had known that going in, so I'm telling you. Stick to drinks.
