If you like poor service go here
Or you can go to any of the other adorable and delicious cafes in Chelsea where they don't treat their customers like dirt. At antique cafe, it's not just that they have poor service, it's that they are incredibly rude, unfriendly, and unwelcoming.

some of the worst service
I come here a lot as I work right across the street. Every single time I walk right up to the counter and wait patiently. I can honestly say that it has taken at least 5 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me. these people are literally across the counter - 5 feet away- looking at me and they walk right past. it is so strange. The food is pretty good BUT NOT WORTH THE WAIT. The disregard is just unacceptable. Today, I waited 10 minutes. I was the only person in there. I wont be back.

Scaled Down But A Treat
For tough times, when you have less inclination to spend what you don't have, Antique Cafe is a safe bet. Although it's not fair to compare this place to a 4 star dining experience because it's at best a quaint and arty little cafe, it's got broad and satisfying variety. If you want to sit back and have a drink, and are tired of the usual bar experience, this is a good alternative. The beer and wine selection is not bad. If you want a snack, they've got plenty to choose from. Brunch menu is also pretty good. Steak and eggs for me, thanks.

Lucky Rain
I was walking down 26th street last week in the rain, cursing my luck, when something in the corner of my eye caught my attention. It was a little restaurant I hadn't noticed before. I was slightly hungry, and not wanting to get completely soaked, decided to dash inside. I was really taken by the feel of the place, nice presentation, lots of charm. Those pastries! In my face, tempting me, I succumbed. I'd do it again. So glad I found this restaurant. I also had a mochaccino which was great. Although my intentions were finding a warm dry place, I have to say this place was a great surprise find.

Romantic Nights, Sweet Morning After
My wife and I love the dinners here, the wine, the candle light, the delicious steak, and her favorite which is the chicken. We prefer this to larger places for obvious reasons, you are more pampered by your waiter/waitress, and without the extraneous noise accompanying larger venues. You will always feel in love when you are here. Or perhaps I should say that's how it always is for us. On the other hand, coming in for brunch has it's own merits of desirability. The intimate space, while always giving the restaurant an at-home-in-your-living-room feel, is beautiful in the morning light. No waking up in a strange place here! Delicious omlettes, delicious pastries, and good eggs benedict. Well, my wife prefers the benedict, I tend to stick to omlettes and pastries. To each their own. For goodness sake this is a great spot! Have I not made myself clear by now?

Atmosphere and Good Food, It's My Go-To
What's not to like about this restaurant? Well, maybe it should upgrade to a bigger space. Otherwise, I like it. The burgers are so filling, big patties spiced and cooked very well, with a ton of fries on the side. If you're carbohydrates conscious, there's enough salads to satisfy, but honestly, the burgers are not to be skipped. Try it at least once so you can say you did.
