Antica Venezia (CLOSED)

I went here for v-day with my boyfriend and wasn't really expecting anything but I was pleasantly surprised! The service was amazing and so was the food. They didn't rush you out at all! To everyone who hasn't been here before, go ASAP!

I dined here with a few girlfriends on a Friday, early evening. We felt the food was a bit rushed, though the restaurant was not crowded. We munched on several appetizers which were wonderful with distinctive flavors, followed by pasta entrees, which we all agreed were all a bit overcooked, but delicious nonetheless. By the time we were ready for coffee/dessert we had lost interest as we were sated. We looked up to find the restaurant completely crowded, and staff chatting with the local customers. Seems they enjoy the place as much as we did.

After reading all of the positive reviews, I was eager to dine here. While the meal was enjoyable, I wouldn't rave about the place. The appetizers were okay and certainly did not equate to the cost. My husband and I both had pasta dishes, which were good, but not so incredible that we would rush back to eat here again. Service was very good though.

What a beautiful experience! I have never been so affected by a restaurant experience before.. It was our first time to this place; we had just googled "romantic restaurant NYC"... and I can't believe how perfectly Antica Venezia fitted what we were looking for. The food alone would make the experience incredible enough; but combined with the unbelievable service and atmosphere... Indescribable. We had portobello for appetizer, chicken cacciatore, ravioli, champagne, tartufo, cappucino.. We were stuffed towards the end but could not help but finish everything because every bite was so delicious! The owner and ALL waitstaff were so delightful as well! They even wished us a happy anniversary on our way out. Go go go! Lovely lovely place.

A warm romantic place with outstanding service & food with some little extras that make this moderately expensive place a very good value and a great experience. Papperdelle with mushrooms was fantasic as were the veal entrees we tried. Only regret was that the tomatoes on the Caprese salad were out of season (December) and not worth serving. But this is a cozy, wonderful place with great food and the personal effort by the owner and staff made the experience extra memorable.

We had my dad's surprise (60th) birthday party last night. None of us had ever been to Antica before, but everything was fantastic! I'm a foody and everything from the service to the food and wine were spot on. There were 24 people in our party, so I can only imagine how good everything must be with just two or four people. The owner was lovely and the wait-staff fabulous and super friendly. I will go back for sure and absolutely recommend it to others.

I can't remember why I reserved this particular restaurant, but I'm certainly glad that I did. I would highly recommend it to anyone - particularly if they were staying in the village - as it is easy to find and we had a lovely walk to it that evening. You are treated like royalty from the moment you step inside and the aromas almost knock you from your feet. They don't force the menu upon you and ask if you'd like to see it. Don't go here if you're pressed for time because the atmosphere just doens't allow for anything but a relaxed and fun evening. Truly a wonderful restaurant. I confirm all the previous reviews as honest and true.
