    Superb!

My brother and his wife highly recommended this restaurant to my husband and I and, after reading the reviews posted here, we went with a group of six for the first time in January. We had a truly wonderful dining experience and couldn't wait to return, which we did for Valentine's Day. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is perfect and the folks who work and run this restaurant seem to really understand the meaning of the word service. They are happy to accomodate you in any way possible. This is truly refreshing! I absolutely love Antica, have recommended it to all of my friends and plan to go back many times in the future.

    Great Experience

What a pleasant surprise this place was! Great atmosphere, mouth-watering food, and impeccable service made this restaurant an all-around great experience for my girlfriend and me. We are accustomed to rude service coupled with overpriced food in this city...but Antica Venezia is the antithesis. Because we had to wait a few extra minutes to place our order (which we didn't mind), we were treated with an appetizer on the house. After finishing our huge meal, we also were treated to complementary after-dinner drink. Patrons can choose from limoncello, sambuca, and something else. The location (on West St.) adds to ambiance. Frosted glass hides the sight of car traffic and allows patrons to pretend they are back on the Grand Canal enjoying a nice meal while peering out into the lagoon. This restaurant is a great little secret on West St. and I hope it stays that way!

Great food, Old World Charm, and So Roma

With its 2 fireplaces, great lighting, view of the Hudson River, and Italian love songs played at just the right volume, this restaurant is always a pleasure to go to. I don't know why it isn't packed every night. The service is impeccable and the food, often prepared tableside, is always fresh, well prepared and delicious. They have a good selection of reasonably priced wines and are very generous with their wine by the glass, and the complimentary homemade grappa at the end of the meal is delicious - the Limoncello being my favorite.

    Best Italian in Town

I went to Antica Venezia with a group of friends and didn't know what to expect. The moment I stepped through the door, I immediately felt like I was in Italy! The decor was so warm, beautiful and authentic. We were seated at a middle table which was great because we could enjoy the shows that the servers put on for certain dishes. The staff was amazing and so friendly, the made us feel like familia. I have been to Italy a few times and this restaurant is a perfect replica. On top of the decor and staff being so authentic and warm the food was delicious! I had some pasta in marsala sauce which i still think about to this day! It was SO good and the portions were realistic. The most interesting thing we ate was the dessert that was created right at our table. It involved sauces and fire, so much fun! I would recommend this place to anybody, from a romantic date or for a group of friends who want ot go to a place where they feel at home.

    Great Food and Service

We ate here this past Saturday night, 11/5/05. Both the food and the service were excellent. I had the crabmeat stuffed artichoke starter, which was delicious. My boyfriend had the lobster bisque which he liked as well. As a main course I had the pasta with seafood, which I really enjoyed. The service was very attentive. the atmosphere is cozy, and pleasant. I will definitely return soon!

    Great Date

The owner is incredibly friendly at this spot. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The wine and grappa and limoncella were fantastico! The service was friendly, and the table cloths are removed in between dinner and dessert.

    Surreal Spot

Food, service and atmosphere was great. Crowd was mixed, but that made the spot even more interesting (tourists, bankers and gold diggers alike). Would definitely recommend for a group of 4 or more. Hardly any waiting and the staff were attentive. Plus it's secluded off of the rest of the W.village and is a good hide out spot.
