    What a wonderful restaurant

What a wonderful restaurant. This was our second time there this month. The wait staff is incredible. The food is superb! Love it!

    Slow service

Our 7pm meal Antica Venezia began wonderfully, on time seating, the staff was attentive and thoughtful, bringing starters that our children could enjoy. Our appetizers came out promptly, but then everything ground to a total halt. After about 1/2 hour of waiting for entrees, we began complaining. After being repeatedly assured our entrees would be out in "1 minute" it was after 9pm when they finally appeared. At one point someone came out who said he was "in charge of the kitchen" and had stopped anything else from being made until ours was ready-it still took another 20 minutes! We were offered a bottle of complimentary wine, which we declined. I was shocked when upon receiving our check, not 1 item was comped to compensate. The meal took over 2.5 hours, our kids were completely asleep at the table. We heard other tables similarly complaining.

Probablt one of the most overrated Italian places in NYC

We knew it was going to be bad once we were given the bread (after waiting 20 minutes) and it was stale. We asked for another basket and it was just as bad. For an expensive italian restaurant to have bad bread is just inexcusable. We decided to skip appetizers but they brought us complimentary ones which I'm glad we didn't pay for because they were tasteless. The mains weren't much better; small portions and lacking in any sort of flavor. On a positive note the atmosphere was nice but this in no way made up for the mediocer overpriced food.

    Unforgettable experience

I was swept away with the personal touches at Antica. The staff made me feel as if I were the only person in the restaurant. Napkins were folded and replaced each time I left the table. My chair was pulled out for me each time as well. Wine was decanted using a tall candle and a cut glass pitcher (the wine list is amazing). Dinner included the most delicious zucchini and bruscchetta. Fish was ssooo fresh and each plate beautifully constructed. Excellent flavors like safron enhanced each entree. How about strawberries in balsamic wine and black pepper for dessert! New York City is saturated with restaurants. Antica Venezia is about as good as it gets.

    Great Atmosphere

The atmosphere was quite romantic and nice. The service was a little bit slow but acceptable. The Bruschetta was delicious and the Penne Tartufate was great, too. However, Cappellini Alla Vongole was horrible, to be honest. The noodle was very dry.

as usual, never a bad meal

Haven't been here in a while, but it was my birthday. Everything was excellent as seen by the empty plates. one of the few restaurants that I venture out of my comfort zone with the food choices and am always happy with the choice. Food, service and place never dissapoint. have been coming here since 2002. have brought friends who are impressed with the food and service. so glad a restaurant like this exists!

    Great Mother's Day dinner!

We were there last night to celebrate Mother's day with my in-laws. We had to push our reservation back from 7 to 7:45. They were ok about it. We reached after 8. Still smiling, informing us our table would be a few mins. We had a drink at the bar and were seated soon. The service was great. Food even better. The servers as mentioned by some other reviewers were not trying to joke with us or anything. They were polite. Enjoyed every bit of the meal and the experience overall! Will def go back and recommend it to all.
