    Food doesn't stand up to the hype

    Finally made it to this "celeb spot" on a Saturday night with no reservation. Place looks warm and inviting but table are really close to each other. Definetely more a manhattan feel than Williamsburg. Service was good although they brought a dish we didn't order. However, they offered a drink because the shrimp crespella was cold. Menu features some classic Roman staples (pasta cacio and pepe, amatriciana, lamb scottadito etc.) while the wine list is short and mostly focused on main stream Italian wines with heavy mark-ups (choice by the glass was somewhat limited). We also had the lamb spinach tagliatelle which were a bit oily and very light on the sauce and the bacon wrapped rabbit with broccoli rabe. The rabbit was actually good although a bit dry while the rabe was very oily and the chilli flakes added a nice heat. Grandma tiramisu was disappointing in that the ratio between biscuit (just two!) and cream was totally off and the chocolate shavings added textural component but was quite heavy handed. Presentation of all dishes was quite simple. Live music was a nice addition to the experience.

    Perfect evening

    We dined here last Friday with a group of 5, and it was perfection. From the attentive service to the live jazz music playing, we thought it couldn't get any better.... Until the lamb came out. Honestly, I've had lamb all over NYC but this is hands down the best. It's a must try. Highly recommend this restaurant for a memorable dining experience

    Not worth the trip

    I hate to give a bad review, but I can honestly say it was not worth it. Our server was pushy... I understand the selling aspect however I work in a restaurant & his technique was obnoxious. We had to send back 2 out of the 5 dishes ordered as they were both pastas and extremely undercooked to the point that it was crunchy. Will not visit again

    Worth It!

    Went here on a Saturday night without a reservation.. Made us wait for 15-20 min but it was so worth it. The Crudo e Bufala Croccante and Lasagna were my favorite! I can't wait to go back.

    Waited over an hour for a table for two with the promise that it would take no more than 15 minutes. No drinks were comped and no apology was made 90 minutes later. Once seated, I asked the waiter to ask the chef to not sprinkle cheese on my dish since I am lactose intolerant. He replied with, '"we cannot do that." The music wasn't bad but it was so loud that an actual conversation couldn't take place at the table. And what little words made it through were quickly interrupted by the always intrusive waiter. First time I have ever left a restaurant with a bottle of wine that was still half full just to get out of there.

    Not to be missed

    The best Italian food I have ever had. The food here is sublime. The wine is out of this world. The food is perfectly prepared and it is inventive without being overdone.

    Beyond disappointing.

    Really one of my worst restaurant experiences on memory. Our arugula salads both had dirt/sand in them. When we sent them back with that complaint the chef came out and claimed that it was the crispness if the arugula. One of our two main courses was cold, the bread was stale (when it finally arrived about 30 minutes after we asked for it) and the bartender (we ate at the bar) was scarce, unapologetic, and very slow with my simple wine reorder. When we were ready to pay the bill, not only was nothing comped, but the bartender actually said, "we didn't charge you for the salads."
