i came to this hole in the wall with my husband a few nights ago. it smelled like they sprayed lysol to cover up the cigarette smell from the mexican workers in the back. we still decided to give it a try. everything we ordered was a complete train wreck. overcooked pasta and undercooked chicken. we assume that all of the reviews of this place are either by owners or staff. if the owner reads this please hire a new chef, remodel, hire a new waitress and change your outdated menu.

I have been going to this restaurant since 1969 when it was called Pizza Bowl. The present owner Anthony worked there . Since Anthony took over he has modernized the restsurant to look great. The food is even better than it was when it was Pizza Bowl. they have the best baked clams I have ever had. They are made fresh when you order them. The infamous chicken parm. special is great, it is me wifes favorite dish. My favorite is the stuffed sea bass with crabmeat, the dish is made to order and any changes there has never been a problem with changes. The staff is great and very hospitable and friendly. if you need an Italian restaurant in Sheephead Bay Go to this restaurant. You do need reservations on weekends. Enjoy

Forget about the fancy ( and overpriced ) restaurants in Manhattan. If you're craving authentic Italian cuisine then Anthony's is the place to go. From excellent service, to the big portions you'll leave with a smile on your face, a full tummy, and lots of money still in your wallet. Anthony does the cooking, yet finds time to say hi to his customers and caters to our every wishes. I only wish I could give the review higher then 5 stars! My favs: EVERYTHING !!!! And save room for dessert and their homemade whipped cream!!!

Ok everyone doesnt know your name but its a very nice friendly spot with very good food and good value. I took my wife for a bday dinner recenty. I made an RSVP for 530pm as I worried about it being packet. Must have picked a good time before rush b/c we were the first ones in but was neat seeing the little RSVP on the table Very friendly staff and seeing the owner/chef anthony sticking his head out to chat with some guests gave it the feeling of a hometown spot. Not fancy, very small (about 10 tables total) but the food is awesome! I live like 2 blocks away (just moved in) and knew of this place as the 'pizza bowl', when my grandfather was alive he loved it! Nice For sheepshead bay compared with famous place called michaels that charged fortune for their food. Food was very good, had the veal parm and my wife had the veal parm special (added eggplant etc to the usual parm plate. My wife had the 'homemade' wine with it. Very original! We didnt have time for dessert as had to get back home to relief our babysitter of our 2 'angels' at home but we will be back again! Good for takeout or eat in!

Visited family in Brooklyn and found Anthony's on MenuPages. What a pleasant surprise. Delicious, well prepared, old world Italian food. Too bad deco match quality of food. Definitely will go back.

The food is consistently delicious and the servers are terrific. The atmosphere is very friendly. They serve the best and most tender veal francese anywhere. The restaurant is small, and you need a reservation on the weekend.
