I had a bad experience once. My girlfriend and I went several times the food was good but not great. I really liked the house pie and she was a big fan of the manicotti. I found the sauce a bit bland, but that's me. I'd heartily recommend Peppe's for your Italian fix. But more on that bad experience. I went with my girlfriend and her mother one night. Mom orders the veal marsala. When it comes, she suspects that it might actually be chicken. (not out of the realm of possibility, as chicken marsala is also a menu item) We alert our waiter, who swears it's veal. As I start to try it, another guy (Waiter? Manager? Who knows!) comes out berating me for thinking it could be anything other than veal. I'm tasting it, and he's insinuating that I'm confused because it's so "soft." I'm too much of a nice guy, so I let it go. He begrudgingly brings out "another" veal marsala, but the meal had kinda been ruined at that point by his abuse. As an afternote, I did get both unfinished marsalas to go, so I could check them out at home. Lo and behold, one chicken and one veal! Nice place. Nice prices. Alright food. USUALLY, adequate service. But I only need to be insulted once. I won't be back again.

This is one of my favorite restaurants around! We always come here for a nice dinner. I have been there several times and have enjoyed everything Ive tried.....especially the grilled shrimp over pasta. The shrimp was amazing!

Ummmmmm, i'm Italian sooooo okay let's go........... the sauce is okay not spicey enough, the pizza is not bad and the crust could be chewier, the pasta is al dente and my aunt likes that, the salads have too much dressing and my heavy aunt, from the midwest, who married into the family really likes that, the chicken was okay. I feel like i should go back there again and give them yet another try. the kids LOVE their marinara sauce, but love is a strong word. Service could be better. I feel that if you frequent a place enough that "the guy" knows you, every now and then a nice glass of wine or a little something should come your way. I would NEVER ask nor expect but - you know, after a while - you notice. Maybe i won't go back. Loud too!

Anthony's cozy atmosphere has intrigued me since I moved into the neighborhood, and I finally gave it a try last week. Both my meal and my fellow's were delicious, the portions were generous, the staff was attentive, and they kindly didn't charge me for my wine after I gracefully knocked my first glass over, which they immeditely cleaned up and refilled in under a minute. It was a good dining experience, and I plan to go back!!

I've ordered a pizza for delivery a few times (Margaritta) and I've been very pleased...

I cant say that I agree with any of the positive reviews. The food and pizza are passable but the prices are for a higher quality meal. Pizza TOPPINGS are delicious but the pizza is sauce on bread with tasteless cheese. Heros are far from good. I have tried them again and again thinking that they would change their fare, but it has not changed.

I went here for the first time recently and was really impressed by the food and the service. Agree with other posters that specials were excellent. Food was actually hot and well prepared. Signficantly, service was steady and attentive. Portions were excellent and prices, given restaurants in Park Slope, were totally appropriate for value, service, etc. One feels a sense of dining value here. This is not the place to go if you want cold and uninmagninative food, incompetent service, small portions and a crazy tab; there are plenty of other non-performing, trendy "Italian" restaurants in Park Slope where you can get that package. Highly recommend this restaurant and it has deservedly gotten into our rotation. Follow-up meals have same rating from us.
