SOLID
They are very nice and gave us a free dessert of their Ice Cream Tempura which was delicious (and we came back a second time for just ice cream--but didn't get it free). Sushi was creative and fresh. A great view of Montague Street in almost bleacher like seating. There is a bit of a techno vibe with neon lights and lighting and all white decor, but makes it kind of fun.

Yummylicious!
This is definitely my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. I like the chicken teriyaki, 911 roll, vegetable tempura, shrimp tempura and tempura ice cream. I have been there many times, and the last time I went with my family they gave us complimentary sake and wine. Very friendly servers, nice atmosphere. There is an area where you can overlook Montague street and watch the people go by. It is a bit expensive, but I think it's worth it. Definitely recommend.

Mediocre
The rice used in the sushi was way too gummy. The service was pretty slow. Besides the rice the food was pretty promising and the atmosphere was great.

Great Value
Fresh, well-presented sushi at great prices. Staff is really friendly. Much better than similarly priced sushi joints in the neighborhood.

Most disappointing take out sushi
This is the first time we ordered take out sushi regular (lunch $19.0) from Ani the new Restaurant on Montague Street Brooklyn Heights. What a mistake. The presentation had nothing to do with Japanese food. The Fish and the Roll looked very unappetizing and not fresh. One piece of sushi my husband spit out. I didn't eat mine. The eel was burned. Forget the dried out cooked shrimp and that egg thing. The roll was unappetizing, fake crab meat legs with lots of mayonnaise. For the $40.00 we spent for the 2 sushis we should have bought a nice piece of Fish and prepare it ourselves. I felt cheated and taken advantage of.

Great New Addition!
I learned that Ani Sushi would be opening months ago; therefore, I did not think twice anout purchasing the incedible grooupon for this restaurant. The food was delectable! We ordered the garlic butter edamame (would ask for the garlic butter on the side next time). The asparagus appetizer was also delicious and perfectly cooked. We also ordered the spicy yellowtail, veggie roll, 911 roll ans thr lollipop roll. The sushi was one of the freshest, I've had in NYC. The lollipop roll was creatively presented. The 911 roll had an excellent blend of flavors of sesame and tangy. The only issue was the food took longer to arrive compared to other sushi restaurants in the area. However, the restaurant was pretty busy with sit down and takeout orders. I will definitely be going back...many many times!
