Excellent dinner except for the music
Three of us went to celebrate my son's 19th birthday. The restaurant is attractive inside and the wait staff is friendly and efficient. We all ordered fillet and three side items. The steaks were grilled to perfection and the portions large. The side items can definitely be shared between two people. The only thing that made our evening less than perfect was the choice of music. For an eating establishment that is somewhat art deco and upscale I would expect some instrumental jazz or other soft background music, but we had to endure bill board hits. I am not sure if the restaurant is trying to lure a younger crowd or not, but it didn't work for my 19 and 22 year old sons.

Good Spot
Went here with my boyfriend for his birthday and a couple of friends for dinner... bar scene was pretty crowed and we had 9pm reservation and waited for about 20 min. The atmosphere was alright... thought it would be a little more upscale but wasn't really. People weren't as dressed as I thought they would be. Anyway, we finally get seated... our waiter Cal was awesome... really sweet and took very good care of us. we had the porter house for two which was awesome... very tender and delicious... onion stings were great... spinich cream good too. Got a souffle and even got Cal to sing happy birthday to my boyfriend. Overall, I would recommend Angelo and Maxie's for it's excellent service and good food.

Best filet in nyc!
Have been with my boyfriend all over and angelo and maxies by FAR has the best filet mignon. Juicy with no fat! (unlike other places) The creamed spinach is also amazing! You haven't lived unless you eat filet here!

Great Saturday Night Dinner
Great place to go on a saturday night. Definitely a young, fun, atmosphere more comparable to a bar/lounge than a steakhouse. The bar was packed in the front. Great service, we got seated immediately, we had 2 waiters to our table. Food was very good, I wouldn't say it's the greatest I've ever had, but definitely satisfying. large portions, both us us didn't finish our food. Overall a fun place to go on a sat. night if u want good drinks and food.

There are very few satisfactions I get in this world that surpass sinking my teeth into these steaks.

A Steakhouse w/ Hipness? I like it!
This is a steakhouse no doubt about it. If you want steak and all the a la carte experiences of a steakhouse, then this is the place. The staff and the patrons are hip, young and fun. The food is delicious. The drinks are strong strong strong and big big big! We all keep coming back here but maybe it's time to take a step back and acknowledge NY's best and most consistent steakhouse.
