Angelo and Maxie's (CLOSED)

When i go out I expect the world. I earn my money and love to spend it on the good things in life. Angelo and Maxies is one of those places. The food, service, atmosphere and hospitality was spot on. When I left the restaurant this past monday I felt welcome and satisfied. The male host not only sat us but checked on my table during the meal. He was a lively fellow that seemed to have an appreciation for the business. I only mention this one aspect of the establishment because the rest of Angelo and Maxies followed suit! Everyone here deserves a thank you. The next time we dine at this restaurant I will ask for names so I can feel even more welcome than I already do.

Living in NYC i've been to a few steakhouses, and this one ranks right up there. The first time i had the Ribeye, which was amazing-a tiny bit on the done side, but still had unbeliveable flavor a great cut, and my girlfriend had the steak salad-her mistake, telling them to cook it well done, but otherwise the dish would come out fine. The second time w/my friend, we split the Carpacio appetizer which was amazing and each had the T-bone w/fillet on one side and Sirloin on the other. Amazing cut, and melted in my mouth. Just tell the waiter to have the Chef keep on the rare side. The sides are terrific too...the Garlic Mashed potatoes come w/a little Onion curl which is a nice touch, and the cream spinach also tasting very original. The desserts are fabulous as well. My girlfriend and i split the sundae, and the second time i had the Apple Crisp w/my friend. FYI: many of the deserts are for 2 so you don't have to run up your tab. Overall, it's one of the better values you will get in NYC. The portions are huge, and the cuts are $30 for 15-20 oz. plates. The place has a reputation for being loud...but it is a steakhouse. The waiters are super friendly and overall it's a totally amazing experience.

Recently came with my boyfriend on a Friday night. Nice mix of people ranging from couples, boys night out, tourists, families, etc...The service was very good and very prompt. My boyfriend ordered the 24 oz steak and it was cooked perfectly. I opted for the shrimp and bean salad which was also delicious. We got a side of cottage fries and a sweet potato. All the portions are huge! We coulnd't manage a dessert, though they looked very tasty.

I travel around the country looking for new experiences and I like to share my endeavors with other travelers and locals. Angelo and Maxies was one of those places that is worth mentioning. The staff,food and environment was with-out a dought a great experience. I dined at this establishment on Monday the 21st of July. Everyone was so great. I will defiantly recommend this place to others. Thanks for a great time!

my friend and i celebrated my 40th birthday there on a thursday nite. the drinks were super strong which was great.. the door staff and bartenders were terrific. our server was lacking sincerity and interest, but then another server stopped by, 'cal' i think she said her name was and she was pleasant. the food was really exceptional, something i wasn't expecting. from the shrimp and clams oreganato to the ceasar salad. the ny sirloin was tender, juicy, sooo tasty and the garlic potatoes, although not a favorite were just right. the bread pudding was crazy good and the cheesecake and lava cake were amazing too. really a great nite, where i thought two girls surrounded by too much testosterone would get lost.

Had the lunch special today. $20.50 for a huge ceasar salad, delicious fillet, and big bowl of ice cream. Everything was delicious and the service was efficient and courteous. I've been living in the neighborhood for the last 10 years and I'm ashamed to say that this was the first time I went in. It certainly won't be the last. Steak was as good or better than any in the city.

Ate here a few times before, but this last time was more than outstanding. The servers were very attentive. The steak, spinach & mashed potatoes were AMAZING. A friend & I split a large portion & sides & it made for a very nice night. Very satisfied & I can't WAIT to go back & have some more of that great food!
