    Service will sink this place

I live around the corner and was looking forward to another dining option on the upper UWS, however this place won't be around long. At least not unless they figure out how to run a restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the food is good (brunch had GREAT presentation), but the servers and managers are clueless. I walked out the first time I went because no one served our table. We weren't the only ones. And when we gave them a second chance tables around us also got up and left. Too bad. Hopefully the owner will wise-up.

Good pizza, but clueless on customer service

I've ordered pizza twice for take out and while the pizza is good, the service is bad enough to make me want to avoid that place like the swine flu. If you want to check it out, be sure they get your order correct because although we repeated our order 3 times, they still had it incorrect when they repeated the order back to us. They told us it would take 20 mins so we came back in about 15 mins expecting to wait a few mins, but the pizza was ready. When we got home (1 block away), we realized the entire pie was cold. We had to heat up the pizza ourselves. Reading the other reviews, I see others have very similar opinions. I hope they look up their reviews and make some changes soon. The pizza is good, but definitely not that good.

    Best Brunch on the UWS

Don't know about the pizzas, but the brunches are divine. And you can't beat the value. Bloody mary or mimosa (with fresh-squeezed OJ!!!), main course, and fluffy tiramisu for under $10. And the main course was fabulous -- the best I've had anywhere in a long time! In fact, I loved it so much, going back there for brunch with friends.

    Excellent Pizza

Can't beat this place. You can order an app, a large specialty pizza (try the sausage, pepper and onion one) and some house wine for a total bill of $45! You can't beat the quality of food/drink you get for that amount anywhere in the UWS. Highly recommended!

    oh my god

For a few moments, i was sure that i was in the middle of a monte python sketch. The wait staff completely ignored not only my table but several around me as well. My order was a simple one, although you would never know it from the confusion that resulted. I had to send my food back 3 times before i finally simply surrendered and ate what was served. While the food itself was good, the service was a nightmare and i cant see going back there again.

Very good pizza on the UWS

I rarely if ever comment on Menupages, but after seeing some of the comments posted I felt obligated to weigh in. First off, I am Italian American and I own a second home in Italy, so I know Italian food. (I imagine there are people here who feel they are qualified to comment when they are likely not). The pizza here is very good. The mozzarella is indeed fresh. The crust is on the chewy side and it's delicious. (Some people like their crust blazed to the point of black crunchiness, which this pizza is not, thankfully) The toppings are flavorful, I have them put black olives on the pizza which are not listed on the topping choices but available. Plus the food is incredibly cheap! $14 for a full size pie, and $1 per topping. I prefer the super thin crust (circular pie) over the old world style (rectangular pie), but that's my preference. And when you eat at the restaurant they provide olive oil which is better than that provided at most pizzerias. Note I haven't tried the pasta, but despite the claim of 'home made' I saw dishes at the table next to me and the pasta did not look 'fatto a mano'. The main downside has been mentioned - when pizzas are delivered they are NOT hot - Angelina's hasn't obtained one of those heat bags, unfortunately. This is a big problem, particularly on a busy night. During the week delivery time has been faster and pizza hotter. The best pizza in NYC? No, but it's the best in the neighborhood (which formerly had terrible options).

    Very good pizza

I ate at the restaurant itself and had a very good experience. It seems like the folks on here who didn't like it got their food delivered. The crust was nice and crispy, very fresh tasting ingredients, good portion, friendly service, and a good value. The atmosphere was quite nice except for the music they had playing. I recommend Angelina as a nice spot to have fresh brick oven pizza on the UWS.
