    Solid All Around

I have to say, after the holy war that seems to be waging over this restaurant online, I was not only apprehensive about going, I was also worried I might not be up to the sheer challenge of choosing a side. I guess the side chose itself- we had a lovely time. The staff was pleasant and attentive, the food was, for the most part, very flavorful and delicious. The soup of the day, a thai lentil vegetable stood out in particular. The chili and Reuben were also winners. the waiter did seem to hover a bit after we were finished eating in a "are you done yet? if so, you should go" kind of way. otherwise it was lovely.

    Meh

I hadn't been here in a while, and went with a fairly large group, and now I remember why I haven't been here in a while. I agree with the reviewer who said everything here kind of tastes the same. What they do best are the very simplest things on the menu - nice salads and the combo bowls. But really, when plain steamed vegetables are your best dish, why go out to eat? I will say that our server handled a large group with aplomb and was actually quite friendly, not just tolerant. I liked her. And I like eating my veggies, so every so often, I'll probably still go. But it would be nice if some of the dishes had a little more oomph and spice. They just feel tame.

    Disappointed and disturbed

I always feel terrible when I have to convey a bad experience at a vegan restaurant. I agree with the negative reviews. It's overrated, overpriced and the staff can be unpleasant. I ordered what I thought was a roasted veggie wrap as they represented it. They basically took a few sweet potatoes, beets, minimal humas and sprouts and put in a small wrap. When I called the manager, the defensive, condescending manner in which I was treated was upsetting. More verfication of just because one gets it with the animals and food, doesn't mean they know how to be nice to a fellow human. "Famous" Angelicas - I think not.

    overrated- poor customer service

I have eaten at this restaurant twice. The food is decent, if a bit overpriced. However, the customer service is not good at all. My friend and I were excited to learn that we could bring our own wine. So, we bought a bottle to have with our dinner. It took 30 minutes to get our meal, about 45 to eat it, and we each spent 15 minutes in line for the bathroom (they have one). When we had gotten to order desert, the hostess rushed us out and then rudely asked us to leave because we had "been there too long for the amount of food we ordered." I was astounded! I did not know that your ability to sit and enjoy your food was determined by how much you paid for it! I am also annoyed that they let us bring wine, but we were not able to relax and finish it. My feeling is, if people bring wine, they are going to want to talk and enjoy their meal. If they want to make money off of this, they should sell their own wine! I am extremely disappointed at this service and the rudeness of the hostess. For a "progressive" place that supposedly values community, they are sure good at angering this customer.

    Rude employees

If you are attempting to take a meat eater here, I would suggest otherwise. Most of the food is bland and peculiar. Almost every employee is aloof and many of them in addition to being aloof are rude. The wait to get a table on many nights can be up to one hour. Waiting for that long for bland food and rude service.
