Good choice for wine and crostini
This is a great neighborhood spot for wine and tasty crostini, yummy sliders and other delicious snacks to nibble on over a glass of wine. Decent selection of wines. Stylish atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great spot for a date or meeting friends for a drink. Food was better than we expected and worthy of a repeat visit. Recommended.

Perfect every time
I live a block away from Anfora, so I've been there many times since it opened as an adjunct to del 'Anime, which is just two doors away. There hasn't been a single instance when the food, drinks and service did not go above and beyond my expectations. Aside from an extensive wine list, they also have delicious cocktails made by knowledgeable mixologists. The ricotta and honey crostini with sea salt is a MUST! All sandwiches are delicious (lamb sliders are what they're known for ... and rightly so!) A relaxed, laid-back atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff make it a perfect place to go for an after work meet-up, pre- or post- dinner snack ... or just because you're in the mood for something un-fussy. By far one of my favorite restaurants in NY

no wining about the wine
Enjoyed a relaxing evening with some friends in this comfy wine bar. We had a variety of wines between us. All wines were recommended by the friendly, wine-educated staff. They didn't try to steer us to the expensive bottles, but tried to find out our individual tastes in wine. We decided to try the grilled cheese panini. You know, wine and "cheese!" We each enjoyed our sandwich. They went well with our wines and were just enough to satisfy us. We will definitely be back, and might even find a reason to schedule an event there, as we found out that that was something that could be done!

Perfect neighborhood spot
We went over to Anfora after having dinner locally and loved the wine selection and atomosphere. The staff was very knowledgeable and the food looked so good we had to try even after eating-- and it was delicious.

skip for now ...
Hopefully Anfora gets better. Right now the wine list and food list is too limited. There isn't much variety in the wines, nor does the staff terribly knowledgeable about them. Most wines are also too young. If this doesn't keep you away, the smell of the grilled cheese should. It smells pretty awful (and doesn't taste much better). On the bright side, it's a comfy place.
