How lucky we are to have this restaurant in our neighborhood. Amazing food. Try the stuffed jalapenos to start (hot) and get the mango chicken for a main course. Great bread, too. Their lunch buffet is the best, but I can't figure out why the chicken tikka masala is so much better at lunch than at dinner. It's very disappointing at dinner, in fact. I plan on trying everything they serve. It's the best Indian restaurant in NYC. No reason to go downtown anymore.

I had a craving for Indian and wanted to try someplace new for takeout, and I'm so happy I picked Andaz! I only ordered the saag paneer (medium spiced), but it had delicious flavor, without being creamy or oily like it is at many other places. It was reasonably priced, had prompt delivery, and came with complimentary roti (yummy) and a dessert, which appears to be the Gulab Jamun, which melted in my mouth and was a lovely way to top off the meal. This is my new go-to Indian take-out.

So, I saw some positive reviews for this place and a few negative ones..so, having no overwhelming result, I ordered in. I've eaten Indian all over this city so I know from what I say. Anyway, ordered in the standard dish for Indian Restaurants, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the winner of review tug a war are the negative reviewers..the chicken was bland and came apart just looking at it(over boiled) and the sauce tasted like someone tried to stretch the quantity by mixing water in at the last second. Bottom line: I'm no big fan of the quality of Indian restaurants that deliver on UES and Andaz is just like the others..bland and tasteless.

We are from the UK and like most Brits are lucky to have experienced really fanfastic Indian food - it is almost the national cuisine! When Andaz opened we tried delivery and were blown away by their efficiency but above all else by the quality of the food. Each dish was individual in its flavors and textures and appropriately spicy. Over time subsequent deliveries have diluted our enthusiasm. The last tandoori chicken was dry and many of the sauces have become bland - too creamy and generic. We really hope this will change and that popularity won't undermine quality.

As a big fan of Indian food, it's been rough for the 4 years I've lived on the UES. All of the neighborhood places have left me unsatisfied; including the place across the street which has been going steadily downhill for the last year. I've had delivery from here half dozen times and everything has been pretty good, quality food ingredients competently prepared with reliable delivery. Prices are a tad high, but still resonable for the neighborhood. Dishes are generally mild for my taste, but still very flavorful. It's not the best in the city, but finally the UES has a respectable Indian restaurant.
