Friendly service but food isn't to my liking. Chicken dish lacked flavor and tasted more tomato-ey than i perfer.

My favorite indian restaurant!
As a foodie it's difficult to stick to one restaurant, but after my last delivery order I will look no further for great indian food. Granted, it's not cheap like most people would expect, but the quality is so beyond that it's well worth it. Last Friday we wanted to order in, and having eaten from here before we decided to try something different. We ordered all vegetarian dishes—starting with the Aloo Tikki Chat. This I will happily order again, as it's a very big appetizer and loaded with flavor. I loved this. We also ordered Saag Paneer and Chana Masala, and again so delicious. To us, these dishes stood out more than the meat dishes (in terms of both quality and size of the dish). Looking forward to trying something new next time, but may have to get that appetizer again. Also, be sure to plan 40-60 minutes for delivery.

Two Thumbs up
I was having craving for Indian food for a while. I searched on Internet for best Indian food in UES. Andaz came on top. I ordered and was very pleased. Lamb Rogan Josh was flavorful and was tender. Sag paneer was delicous, the spinach tasted so fresh. Later on I took my parents to the restaurant who were visiting me from Texas. They were so happy and thought it to be the highlight of their visit to the NYC. I will definitely would be ordering more often.

Disappointing
Finding decent Indian food on the UES is almost impossible. I've ordered from here several times before and liked their food. But, their quality has clearly gone downhill. I ordered chicken tikka masala (spicy) and specifically requested the papadum and tamarind sauce. The food came quickly but no tamarind sauce or papadum. The masala sauce tasted bland, like Italian red sauce and the entire dish included only 6 small pieces of chicken. I thought I had finally found a reliable Indian place in the neighborhood but I was wrong. Won't order from here again. Too bad.

Indian Gold
What a delight... Cozy, pristine, tasty and fresh. Staff quite warm and efficient. Buffet is a very worthwhile experience- and I'm not big on buffets. Andaz is attentive to their food and customers- uncommon in the UES food shoveling show...

Great place, good food
I work in sales and have few clients in Upper East Side. One of them has lived in India for five years. He suggested to have a Lunch meeting at Andaz. Meeting was a success and so was the food. Now I go there whenever I'm in the area. Though I live in Long Island, once I brought my wife to taste the real Indian food. Its a small restuarant but very clean and alwyas have a nice smell. Service is good and staff is friendly. I'll give Andaz two thumbs up.
