overrated
I've now tried Amy's 4 times, thinking to myself "I've gotta be missing something" after reading these stellar reviews. Although I have tried to convince myself otherwise, food here is just average. They do have a good number of veggie options, which I was really attracted to at first. But I've now had 4 of them and all have been mediocre. But in contrast with other reviewers, the price I find to be pretty cheap, and I'm not a fine diner or wealthy person. I guess I still have not gotten the hang of choosing NY restaurants.

This is my new standard for Chinese food.
This is by far the best takeout Chinese food I've ever had. The fried food somehow manages to make the trip without becoming soggy and the steamed dumplings stay light and delicate. The food at Amy's isn't greasy at all and if there is a sauce involved (which is usually the case with Chinese food) it doesn't overpower what it is on. I love this place and won't even consider other Chinese places in the neighborhood anymore

Very Good Chinese Food in Inwood
CerTainly the best Chinese food in inwood. Their delivery is a bit slow, but the food is always hot. Their vegetarian selections are excellent for all of NYC, not just Inwood. Their prices are a bit high - but only slightly. The ambiance of the restaurant is not great, so it is mainly take out for us...having saif that, the food is really - and I mean reallh - good.

Best Chinese in Inwood!
Yes the food is pricey and the wait is pretty long, but the food is always fresh, tasty, and less greasy than anything else I've tasted in Inwood. I'm willing to spend a little extra.

Strange
The food is tasty. Ordered pickup. Cashier refused my $10 bill for having a small tear from the side. After an amusing one-sided discussion about it still being legal currency, she suggested I go to the bank to exchange it. I told her that I'll just buy something from someone else tomorrow, and that they won't care. Upon bringing my food home, found I had white rice instead of brown. Either one alone I can live with, but the combination of attitude and incompetence makes me sick.

the best chinese food i've found in inwood!
i recently moved to inwood from WaHi, where No. 1 was my go-to chinese delivery joint. i'm so glad i found amy's. as i'm a vegetarian, they have LOTS of options for me and every one i've had has been really tasty. i mean, it's really just somewhat greasy chinese food, but that's what i expect when i call for delivery. the flavors are great, the delivery time (usually) reasonable, and the people that answer the phone are super nice. to be honest, i have a hard time NOT ordering from amy's on those days when i am less-than-motivated to cook. it's a little pricy, but considering the cheaper options up here, totally worth the couple extra bucks.

Good, just a little pricey
Generally a good place from which to order. I have yet to enter the establishment, though I have ordered delivery many times. I have heard that it is clean (utterly important to me), and the woman that usually answers the phone is very congenial. The food? Sometimes great, sometimes just good. You'll never be really disappointed ordering from here.
