    If Beautiful was a bakery

You would have to have had your tongue removed not to like Amys...and even then you would probably have to be blind as well...because everyting looks incredible....but then even the smell... Get coffee with the cheese biscuit toasted with butter, the sticky bun WARMED UP, and the olive or raisin twists. Only thing is there is no room and the line WILL PUSH YOU

    The Best

Amy's Bread has the best Chocolate Devil's Food cake anywhere. In fact, all of the cakes are good as is most everything else here. The cupcakes are wonderful too; I'm always surprised that other cupcake places get more customers, it just goes to show what PR, marketing, and advertising on popular shows can do. They put Magnolia to shame without even saying a word to promote themselves. The icing doesn't even compare - Amy's Bread has a real chocolate taste, not just cream and fat. Amy's Bread is the real deal, they let their food do the marketing. They chose quality and integrity over quantity sold to the tourist masses. Kudos to them. Thank goodness something in this city still has that attitude. The absolute best!

So Good it's hard to stay away!

I love EVERYTHING at Amy's!! Frankly I'm shocked there aren't more reviews. I literally love everything about Amy's, especially what I call "the pink cake". Great soup, Carrot-Ginger (my fav), bread, cookies, coffee and tea. Their cupcakes certainly rival all those others. It really is hard when it's just 2 blks away!

    delish

The wait staff is very personable - In addition to super breads (love the Pumpernickel with currents, Onion Dill) their sandwiches are very fresh - Tuna, Cheddar Cheese w/ chipotle pepper puree, Hummus etc. are particularly good and not to mention the cakes - red velvet and chocolate devils food....Yikes !! Run don't walk !!

    Get in line

I doubt you will find better bread anywhere. I attended a baking class done by Amy and have many of her recipes in book form. Her breads are time consuming, but worth every minute. We stopped in before a show, got bread, drove people crazy in the theater and on bus back to 'burbs. Tiny place, but great for takeout if you get in mid-morning or afternnoon. Not much space for a liesurely lunch.
