Their bakery turns out respectable baguettes, ones I can't imagine any Frenchwoman turning up her nose at one. Reasonable prices. Credit accepted. On-site cafe for on-the-spot noshing. Don't know what took me so long to try Amy's. I've been hearing about them for years, but only started experimenting with them in 2015. I live a wild life.

I always get recommendations and reviews before doing just about anything, but quite honestly I do not understand all the love for Amy's Bread. I had a scone, which no joke was quite poor. My 12 year-old son had a chocolate cake and his words after the first bite were "nothing special, daddy makes a much better cake", my sister in law had a coconut cake and "darn it, I was so looking forward to this". Truth to be said my husband was thrilled about his red velvet cake. Anyway I just thought I'd leave my honest opinion here. I'd go back there if I lived in NY but definitely will not give them a second chance on a one-week vacation. The place is very cute though, exactly what I enjoy, little, charming super cute. No restrooms to be found though and I was not in the mood to go ask for one considering the size of place it was a bit absurd I could not see it clearly.

This honestly was the most disappointing red velvet cake I have ever eaten. what was with the icing? butter cream was not a good choice here. the cake was far too greasy. not even enjoyable. also this was very overpriced! $45 for a 6inch round cake. I'm disappointed to say the least.

You would have to have had your tongue removed not to like Amys...and even then you would probably have to be blind as well...because everyting looks incredible....but then even the smell... Get coffee with the cheese biscuit toasted with butter, the sticky bun WARMED UP, and the olive or raisin twists. Only thing is there is no room and the line WILL PUSH YOU

Amy's Bread has the best Chocolate Devil's Food cake anywhere. In fact, all of the cakes are good as is most everything else here. The cupcakes are wonderful too; I'm always surprised that other cupcake places get more customers, it just goes to show what PR, marketing, and advertising on popular shows can do. They put Magnolia to shame without even saying a word to promote themselves. The icing doesn't even compare - Amy's Bread has a real chocolate taste, not just cream and fat. Amy's Bread is the real deal, they let their food do the marketing. They chose quality and integrity over quantity sold to the tourist masses. Kudos to them. Thank goodness something in this city still has that attitude. The absolute best!

Hands down, Amy's Breads has THE best tasting red velvet cupcakes in NYC. That's all that needs to be said!

I love EVERYTHING at Amy's!! Frankly I'm shocked there aren't more reviews. I literally love everything about Amy's, especially what I call "the pink cake". Great soup, Carrot-Ginger (my fav), bread, cookies, coffee and tea. Their cupcakes certainly rival all those others. It really is hard when it's just 2 blks away!
