Good stuff from savory to sweet
Amy's can be kind of hit or miss but lately it's been really right on. I had a terrific turkey chili with a sesame seed covered breadstick that was an amazing lunch last week. A fig, oat and hazelnut scone and gingersnap that I ordered today were both delicious. I have to find room in my diet to try their cakes. They look yum!

Delicious bread, dessert, and even sandwiches
I love the bread here. Delicious and worth it. Great in combination with cheese from Murray's down the street. Recently a coworker and I had lunch here, and I was quite taken with the sandwich I ate. It was a white bean puree (vegetarian) and she had a turkey sandwich. Mine was absolutely tasty and fresh: it was the kind of sandwich I would like to make at home but don't always get around to. We finished off our luxurious lunch with pieces of cake, and wow, that cake is something to write home about. The cake is really, really, really good. I esp enjoyed the Black and White Cake. Eat it in honor of our new president, and enjoy! Highly recommended. (Though this is not a "nice" sit-down place by any means.)

Too Sweet for my tastes but very popular
Today we went to Amy's Bread after not wanting to wait an hour to get into Max Brenner's. This was at 5PM!! We had blondies and home made hot chocolate. The cookies were expensive (maybe not for nyc? standards) and too sweet and the hot chocolate was sweet as well. It's a cute little place so if you want to sit you may have to wait around to get a free table. If you have a real sweet tooth, this may be the place for you. The line at the counter never seemed to let down. Apparently a very popular place! But not for me..

Great Little Coffee Shop
I stopped here while on the HOHO bus tour. I love little coffee shops and this one is a real gem. Great looking pastries and desserts as well as sandwiches - and don't forget the coffee! Wonderful. I had the Pain au Chocolat - tasted just like the ones I had in Paris.
